Good morning everyone,

My wife is a Mexican citizen and has been a LPR for a number of years...she holds a 10 year green card.  We have also been married for years.  She is thinking about applying for US citizenship but wants to hold onto her Mexican citizenship.  Can she have dual citizenship?  Is it as simple as applying for US citizenship and once she is approved she still maintains her Mexican citizenship?

Please understand when I say is it as simple I fully understand all the forms, hoops to jump in and out of, and wait times that come with this.  We have gone through the K1, ROC, remove conditions, etc so I know the drill!

Thanks in advance for anyone that has first hand knowledge of this subject and their reply.

For the majority of countries it is simple, some have issues, India comes to mind. Mexico is simple. Must be millions, tens of millions?

I was researching this topic yesterday and this is what was for Mexico:

"Mexico allows it but does not recognize the foreign citizenship(s) of a Mexican national. This means that you should enter and leave Mexico using your Mexican passport and, while in Mexico, you are not allowed to seek consular assistance from your other country(ies) of citizenship if you get in trouble."
