Oh well, at least it was a close game that went down to the last play. If someone told me Tom Brady would break the SB record and throw 505 yards, 3TDs, 0 INT and only 1 Fumble, I'd say Pats won it. Our defense unfortunately didn't show up, it felt like how Jags won against Steelers in the divisional round. Biggest discussion in Boston media today is on why SB 49 hero Malcolm Butler did not play for any snap in defense whole game. Belichick even put safeties against their WRs, and did not let his starting CB play a single snap. This loss was on defense and mastermind Belichick. I think Pats fans will remember benching Butler for a long while.

 

Congrats to Eagles and their fans, it's always nice to see a team finally end their drought.

The Patriots never punted in the game and the Eagles only did once. Not a defensive battle by any means with over 1100 yds of offense, but the Eagles D made one more play than New England's and won the game. 

 

It it will be very difficult for NE to make it back to the Super Bowl in the next couple of years. Of course anything will be an improvement on defense after yesterday. Detroit is probably rethinking hiring Matt Patricia.
