Not $1000... the employer should become the sponsor, and have to pay all associated fees and costs of the visa process.  And they should have to sign their life away, just as we did, promising that the immigrant will not become a ward of the state, or the government will hold them liable.

Agreed. With a few changes to the process, such as stopping multiple departments from asking for the same info more than once and having an online form and document submission process allowing computers instead of people to do basic screening, we could probably cut processing time in half.

Or even ONE department asking for the same info.... how many times did we have to pay for biometrics, and WHY?

I do remember having to send the same info multiple times. Also on citizenship it had the outdated form on the website
