Nobody "forced" this kid to pee. The teacher told him to do it. That's not "forcing" him to do it.

How many 14-year-olds out there get "forced" to do stupid things by their friends? Then, how many are smart enough not to?

By 14, kids know what's right and wrong, and a teacher telling a kid to pee in the back of the class is obviously not right. When the kid peed, he made the choice to pee, he wasn't forced to do it.

Or the kid could've just said "hey, I've gotta pee. I'm going pee." Then excused himself, went pee and returned to class.

Some kids still do what their teacher tells them to do. I would have left and faced the consequences later, but not everyone would have.

I'm not into blaming the victim all the time, personally!

I think the teacher was a former trucker.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

What's worse, to be suspended for "leaving class to pee" and then following up with an administrative appeal or something similar...

...or peeing in front of the class then having a huge ordeal made of it?

This kid was 14. Not 4.

Now, when I was 14, I totally would have just left and gone to the bathroom (although I don't think a teacher would make a GIRL pee in a gatorade bottle). When I was in Kindergarten, I asked the teacher three times to be allowed to go to the bathroom. At 5 years old, I didn't know you could do other than what the teacher said. She said no the 1st and 2nd times. The 3rd time she said yes, but it was too late and I didn't make it all the way to the bathroom. I peed all over my favorite outfit.

At that young of an age, such embarrassment will be difficult -- if not impossible -- to live down and handle with his peers. Fortunately, I never had to do anything like that, but I was harssed viciously by my peers. So I know what hell junior high and high school can be at times.

My parents always told me, back when I was in elementary/junior high/high school was that if you need to go to the restroom, and the teacher won't allow you to go, just go. They (my parents) would handle the school and whatever consequences were leveled on me.

I personally think it's crazy that so many schools today don't allow the students to go to the restroom during class. When you have to go, you have to go -- holding it in can be bad for your health and cause pain.

That would have been my case too- My parents would have gone down there to tear a strip out of the teacher.

I never saw any case in any of my schools that anyone was denied a bathroom break. Most teachers just said if you have to go, then go.

In my junior high and high school, once the class began, you were not allowed to leave unless it was a medical emergency or a fire (in which case, everyone left). The teachers would routinely deny students their ability to use the restroom. It wasn't really the teacher's fault though -- the school administration had said that they don't want any student in the halls or restrooms during classes. I think some students had vandalized the bathrooms.

Whatever the case, students either to relieve themselves during the ten minute break between classes (and manage to get their books and make it to their appropriate clas on time), wait until lunch or after school had let out.
