Had my interview this morning as well the oath ceremony (Newark/NJ). I am US citizen now

The officer was a gentleman. I got there at 7:30am and my interview was scheduled to 8:30am, I was called at 8:35 and by 9:00am I was done. Had the ceremony at 11:00am and by noon I was leaving the building.

The officer did say that my process was fast, since his next interview would be with someone that filled on July, 2017. Also made a comment that I filled exact when my window was open (I could apply Jan 2 and they received my package on Jan 5), so I explained I wanted to have it done before my daughter turn 18 yrs old next January to avoid another process. He said they have a new system and the processes are messed up - so you could have your interview sooner than you expect! When I applied the estimate was December, 2018 and I had it today

The six questions were:

What do we call the first ten amendments to the Constitution: The Bill of Rights

We elect a president for how many years? 4

What is the name of the speaker of the house of Representatives? Paul Ryan

Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived? American Indians

When was the Declaration of Independence adopted? July 4, 1776

Can someone update the chart? I am in a hurry now and was having hard time to do it

Congratulations! I bet you are on cloud nine! I must admit I never thought about an interview with a same day ceremony, didn't even enter my head. Did they tell you there would be a ceremony straight after in your letter? 'That would be amazing if it happened to me, as would save my husband taking two days off work to drive me there (which always makes me feel guilty). Sorry if I am sounding a bit out of the loop but I am a Feb N400 filer and come onto January filers now again to see the progression of cases, dates and such.

Interview experience today (4/11) at Minneapolis - N400 with pending i751

So my wife and I just got back from the interview. We had a pending I751 and we filed for citizenship in mid Jan 2018.

We only received an interview letter for the N400 but we had to do 2 interviews, 1 for I751 and the other for N400. THe 751 was more of a formality.Asked about our address, our kids names and DOB, basic stuff and it was approved. The N400 took a while because of a name change but outside of that it was pretty much a good interview. The gentleman was very nice and we joked about kids, NFL, etc. Very easy going.

Let me know if i can shed more light on specific topics for those who have I741 and N400 pending.

I did research and knew the ceremony would be in the same day. Also, when I was done with my interview the officer told me to go to different floor and wait to have my name called that I would have the ceremony yesterday. I finished my interview at 9:00am and had the ceremony at 11:00am. At noon I was getting out of the building with my certificate. I don't think many offices have this possibility, but I am definitely happy that mine has

Question regarding selective service : My husband arrived in US when he was 45 years old. So he did not registered in any Selective Service. On his interview letter received today among other documents required they mention : "Any evidence of Selective Service Registration" . So .... What should we do ?

He is not required to register. The registration is only for males between 18-26

I know. Right ? On the N-400 form we checked the NO box for that question with : were you in US between 18 - 26 etc etc etc. But still ... the document request is there. Why ?

I tried to call USCIS. I got dizzy with the menu option. Selective Service has a 9 - 5 availability to call (eastern time) . Too late today to call. As soon as I know something I will be glad to let you know.

Yeah, but it does not mean anything. I got it on my interview letter too and I'm a female. This letter is a general form they send to everyone, they don't customize it to your specific case

It's clearly boilerplate, but I wouldn't put past an overzealous USCIS interviewer to ask for a selective service letter from a woman to certify that she didn't register. Just kidding. I hope.
