Hey everyone,

congrats to those getting cc today. Just some information I got today from the local embassy. Could be helpful for those that got i130 approval last month or waiting for interview dates.

1) As you know the green card is valid for 6 months once approved however the clock does not start when you get the approval after the interview but from when your medical took place so be careful not to do it to early in case you have long notice periods for those working abroad.

2)Once the NVC gives you CC the interview at a minimum will be one calendar month away. I guess to give you time to have any additional items prepared or any travel arrangements.

Finally just for those that are calling every day. Just a little reminder that on Monday is a public holiday so they will be closed.

Hope this his info is useful.

How long after the CC you get the Interview letter? My CC was Jan 2 and still haven't heard anything on Interview date yet...  Any idea guys??? Thanks!

Hello,

I got my interview exactly 1 week after my CC. I live in the US, so this was for my wife. Also, the email came between 1-2AM, I assume mid afternoon India time.

Hopefully that helps. if your CC is Jan 2, and assuming you are going to Delhi, it should be there in the next day or so. Also, it was about a month and half out from the time i got it.

I just talked to NVC about the email they sent me saying that the DS-260 was missing. This what the lady at NVC said after telling her that I received an email this morning saying the DS 260 is missing yet I submitted and got a confirmation page  with a confirmation number on it (starts withy 2 letters) and a confirmation email.  She asks "when did you send the form then I said on December 7. Then she says well we received the documents on December 12 (they actually received the documents on December 9 and scan date was Dec 12). So she says disregard the email if you already sent the form. Your documents were received on December 12 and we wont know what we have until we have reviewed the file. The email was just a reminder".  So my question is - why send me the email if you don't know for sure that you don't have the form.  I am confused.  The lady was trying very hard to get me off the phone as quickly as possible. It doesn't make sense. I feel like calling again and talking to someone else.

Has any one of you guys had a similar experience regarding the DS-260 form?

I got that email too and the rep said it was a mistake on their part and my file was put in for supervisor review. I had a post earlier that when I called the lady was questioning when I did the form. She told me that they are having a computer glitch that doesn’t allow them to see the form if it’s completed or not. Maybe that’s why the emails are going out.

We had the same issue. We received that email regarding a missing ds-260 right after christmas even though we had submitted the ds-260 a long time ago. we gave the confirmation number from the ds-260 to the rep over the phone and he said they had been having some issues pulling certain applications and to disregard it and we should hear some news in 5 weeks at the most.
