I know there's always people moving here cos I have a lot of out of town relocations, but I haven't looked into getting a different job, so I really don't know

When I moved here (Tampa, on the list) I had a hell of a time finding a job. Almost everything is temp to hire (though they dont tell you if there's a hiring freeze on the company) ... now I have a decent job for where I am in life but I looked for a job for 2 months with barely any results in the beginning.

Well...guess I at least stayed in the top ten after moving from Phoenix..

We thought about Austin; I lived there for years and I do like it, but the market there is so hardware-based; it's a great place if you're an electrical or semiconductor engineer, but if you're in software like me or research/bleeding edge/grid computing like my husband then it's not that great. Not like it was during the dot.com years anyway. I enjoyed those while they lasted...boy, that was some fun!

I might look into moving to Orlando, FL. Hopefully, the cost of living is the same or close to that of Massachusetts.

The northeast is considerably more expensive than FL.

The traffic, however, is much worse.

Wot no Greencastle IN in the list? Shocking! :P

Yeah, I was too. New England, the midwest, and the old rust belt seem to be having a lot of problems. I have relatives all over the US, and the ones from NE, Illinois, and Pennsylvania are fleeing to the south. Half of them have moved to Texas or Florida in the last decade.

Y'oughta come on down, check it out.

Stats like that are pretty useless, there is no indication as to what job sectors are growing. With orlando at the top, I would guess most of the job growth has been in tourism and hospitality type jobs. Not ussualy very high paying.
