I am sure the subject is well beaten to death but I figure just for safety I better get clarification.

I am the beneficiary and my wife is the petitioner but because we live in Ireland and has zero income she must still fill in a form.

My wife fills out I-864 as the petitioner.

Her father fills out an I-864 as sponsor,  does he choose "only joint sponsor" on the form?

Her mother fills out I-864A because she is part of the households tax returns?

They both own property jointly and it generates income and they file jointly for tax returns. My father in law also draws from his pension, my mother in law stopped working 12 months ago so has zero income (aside from the rental properties) for 2016 but income 2015 and 2014, she has not started to draw from her pension yet.

When it comes to household size will my father in law count me as a member of his household because they will be sponsoring me?

Thanks in advance for any help and guidance.

When it comes to household size will my father in law count me as a member of his household because they will be sponsoring me? Did you mean your wife because you are still not in USA so they cannot count you. for your wife, if she lives in the same principle residence with them or  added to their tax return as their dependent, then "Yes", otherwise "No"

Many thanks for the helpful reply.

Currently my wife and I live in Ireland and I am not a member of my father in laws household. When we first move over we will be living with him temporarily until we find a house to rent/buy.  I was not sure if he needed to count me as a household member to prove he had the finances.

So at this time his answer should be just him and his wife?

yes. Since your wife lives outside of USA, she needs to provide proof of her domicile. Please read the Domicile section from bellow guide

Appreciate the help.

We are currently in the US to sort out the domicile needs. We opened bank accounts purchased a car, she registered to vote. Credit card and store cards also so hopefully that should cover the domicile needs.

He and his wife are sponsoring one immigrant, you.  You will be counted in their total household size AS the 1 intending immigrant they are sponsoring.

Thanks for correction. I forgot that I-864 automatically count Intended immigrant in the household size.
