So I got my CA drivers license today and to my surprise, it says in the corner for the first time “federal limits apply.” Maybe they did that because of the letter? Not even when I had work permit, they never did that.. so annoying.. now I have to present my license, green card and letter to prove that I’m legal in this country. 😒

This could be a state change- I'm the US Citizen and they changed that in NY this year- if you do not get an enhanced license (in lieu of a passport) then your license says Not for Federal purposes.  I opted not to since I already had a passport so my license says Not for Federal purposes even though I'm a citizen.

Does this mean they categorize you/us the same as an AB 60 license holder (someone who is unable to provide sufficient proof of legal status)?

I simply got a letter from the DMV asking for me to send them a copy of my current residence documents for an extension. I sent that off last week so I will give it a couple of weeks before going in. I have until the end of April before my current license expires.

K1 Journey - 5 months and 1 day

AOS Journey - 4 months 4 days

ROC Filed - Jan 30 2018

ROC Delivered - Feb 1 2018

NOA date - Feb 7 2018

Conditional Green Card expires April 26 2018.

It makes sense what you’re saying Kaisara and now that I think about it, it might be because now the Dmv here in CA has a new type of ID called “Real ID” which is gonna be the only one acceptable form of ID to travel inside the US . After fall 2020 only this “real ID” will be accepted and not longer the CA regular license. So maybe that’s why they’re putting that note on drivers licenses now 🤔

HGord. That’s how my license exactly looks like now, like the one for an AB60 holder 😧.. maybe because of the new “real ID” new thing?

Hi everyone,

I have been following visa journey for quite a while and just joined because i have a concern and would like opinions here about it.

Everyone is talking about a CRI89 number or a 2nd application number on their biometric letter, but i received mine with only 1 application number which is the same number on the NOA letter.

I was wondering if it is just me or is anyone else has a similar biometric letter with just one application number and why?

Here's my timeline:

I applied for my ROC on january 8, 2018, received by VSC on the 11th of january, NOA dated jan 16.

Received biometric letter on feb 17th, appt on march 1st.

My Biometrics appointment letter also had the same tracking number as the NOA letter.  The tracking number works online, but hasn't updated since I received the NOA letter.  I don't know anything about why things have changed, but you are not the only one.

We only have one case number as well, the NOA and biometirc notice have the same EAC case number. Our status hasn't changed since 1/12. It still says "Fingerpring Fee Was Received". We did our biometrics on 2/22.

Has any one got Biometric appt letter? CSC is slow??

So far, only One VJ poster who filed their I-751 in 2018 has received a Biometrics appointment. Yes, there seems to be a problem.

I took time to lift all of the Visa Journey postings for 2017 (683 of them) in which a Biometrics appointment was listed. I dropped that data onto an Excel spreadsheet and inserted some auditing formulas to calculate the number of days between the filer's NOA and their Biometrics appointment, by month, and also ascertained the shortest, longest and average waits, also by month. The average wait times were:

Jan.~ 26 days February ~23 days; March ~ 26 days; April ~ 30 days; May ~ 28 days June ~ 27 days

July ~ 25 days;  August ~ 38 days September ~ 23 days October ~ 28 days November ~ 23 days December ~ 19 days.

Hmmmmm SO... I phoned USCIS last month to say it had been well over 30 days and still no bio letter, the agent told me he has escelated this and I would recieve a response in 30 days. Today I checked my NOA receipt number which repviously did nothing and stated did not exist. It now says the following:

Case Was Received At My Local Office

On March 5, 2018, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WAC, at your local office. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Has anyone else had this?

I also have a tracking number that has been texted and emailed to me from USPS and I have no idea what it is or have no reason to be expecting anything, were bio-metrics sent via tracking or are RFE's ever sent by tracking? This won't arrive until Friday apparently.
