I've applied for naturalization in November but I'm traveling for ten days in November. While my ten days won't make a difference in my continuous or physical presence requirement I am worried that I might have my interview in January/Feb right before my flight.

I know there is a snowball's chance in hell that I would be naturalized before Feb 10 (my flight), but if I do get naturalized by then, can I leave the country with my other country's passport and re-enter with my naturalization certificate?

no because you won't get the certificate until you have your oath ceremony

you can travel with your green card and your foreign passport

because until you have your oath ceremony, you aren't a US Citizen, even if you passed your interview/test

at the oath ceremony they will take away your green card, and after that, if you want to travel, you will need to get a US passport

plus as you said, I doubt that you will even have your interview before February 10

No, the naturalization certificate doesn't replace a passport.  After the ceremony you will need a US passport to get back into the country.    As stated above,  you will turn in your green card and any other cards issued by USCIS at the naturalization ceremony.

Can we travel using the Naturalization certificate to Bahamas via Cruise?

Although I personally wouldn't take any chances, this CBP page suggests that it's possible if it's a closed-loop cruise.

you can take your naturalization certificate, your travel plans / reservations and make an appointment at a Passport agency - they can issue your passport within 24 hours.

if you are within 2 weeks of your oath date and travel date, you can even book the appointment ahead of time so you can save the slot.

I booked the appointment a week before the oath for the date immediately following the oath - I was then able to do a walk in and filed the same day as the oath - went from the ceremony to the agency - and picked up the passport the next day.

Hi there,

it is the law, that U.S. citizens enter the US with a US passport.

However, CBP does not have the power to deny entry to a U.S. citizen. With that being said, a naturalization certificate is primary evidence of citizenship. You will be let in into the country eventually. Be prepared to be sent to secondary inspection and some questioning as well as a lecture on passport etc.

Quick information from my experience: I got my certificate and went to the passport agency the same day because I had to travel abroad the very next day. I picked up my passport only a few hours later the same day. No problem.
