Hey!

I'm here on the fiancee visa, got married, and have filed for AOS. From what I gather, I will need to have another medical exam. I was just diagnosed with skin cancer .... will this effect my AOS in any way?

Thanks,

Sandra

The skin cancer will have no affect on your AOS application.

By the way, you only need another medical exam if it has been more than one year since your K-1 medical exam. So, as long as your K-1 medical exam was less than one year from the date you submit your AOS application, you only require the Vaccination Supplement (I-693A).

Good luck.

Thank you for your answer! It has not been a year since my medical exam - it's been 3 1/2 months. However, I have been reading in so many threads on here, that people were told they needed medical exams all over again.

As for I-693 - I don't have that form. I only have DS-3025 and know that I need more vaccinations since you need 3 MMR shots and I only had one due to the time factor. Do you know what I am supposed to do in this case? It's driving me crazy.

As far as the Vacc Supp goes...Print off the I-693A from the USCIS website then take it to the Civil Surgeon with your Vaccination records.

They will fill the form in, give you the shots you need ( or waiver you from shots if that will interfere with meds/treatment you are currently having), they seal it in an envelope and that's what you use for AOS. It should all be OK.

Oh and call more than one Civil Surgeon ( if there is more than one in your area). We had quotes ranging from $250 to $50...

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

If you have already sent the AOS paperwork without the I-693A you will probably get an RFE as it is one of the things you should have included in the AOS package. So you should probably go ahead and get it done. Make sure you call around to all the civil surgeons in your area to find the best price. Keep in mind that if you need shots you can get them from a regular doctor and take proof of them with you to the civil surgeon to be transcribed with the DS-3025. Good Luck with everything

You most likely need the I693A supplemental vaccination form completed by the civil surgeon. I suggest you call around for pricing, it can vary by a lot. We paid $70 for the form that was presented to us in a sealed envelope and also for a tetanus shot. They wanted to do an xray so I whipped out the one from her medical and it was accepted.

Good luck!

Hi again! Sorry to bug you but can you maybe give me the direct link for downloading form I-693A? I looked on the USCIS site but only found I-693.

Oh, I called civil surgeons in my area today and they are trying to persuade me into getting an entire exam all over again. They told me that USCIS will make me come back and get it again anyway. I tried telling them I just had one 3 months ago but that flew in one ear and out the other. Soooo, I scratched them off my list. I made an appointment with my DR to get one more MMR shot. I called that Civil Surgeon in Austin that I read about on here, and they will transfer everything for me onto form I-693A for $10! I feel so relieved now. They told me just to make sure to mail them form I-693A along with my vaccination record and form DS-3025. :-)

Hi and thank you!

After doing much reading on VJ last night, I decided to call the civil surgeon in Austin who transcribes everything for $10. I am mailing everything to him this week! All the other CS in my area wanted to do an entire exam all over again. Oh, and I was quoted between $300-$500. Ridiculous, isn't it?

OK, thank you! When should I see the civil surgeon. I mean, should I do that now?
