Hi!

I arrived in USA in July this year on a K1 visa.  My husband and I were engaged before I moved here and I went through the visa process in the UK.
We got married a few weeks after I arrived in the US and I filed for my GC in late august. In the middle of september I did my biometrics.

We recently found out that my husband is going to deploy next year and I phoned the USCIS military helpline to get advice about this. They were very friendly and he said that as my husband probably will be away for my gc interview we can apply to expedite my case so hopefully my interview can take place before he leaves. I haven't received anything from them that they need any documents from me etc but today I received an email saying that it has been denied. It also says that they can reconsider this decision but I then have to send them deployment orders with MY name on it. And that is very much impossible as I am not even in the military.

Has anyone else experienced this? Or could anyone advice me?

You can get deployment papers for your husband with your name as the dependent. When exactly is he deploying next year? I ask that because you may have your green card by then.

He will deploy around february.

USCIS also wrote to me in the email that I can go to the interview myself as long as I can prove that my husband is deployed (That being the reason that he is not with me at the interview)

I am seriously super upset about this. I want him to be at the interview with me. Also the uscis office is 3 hours away from our base and I really dont feel for making that journey alone....

your name can only be on the orders if you are going to be deploying with your husband.

Yes, I found that out today. I spoke to an immigration advisor that also said that USCIS dont expedite AOS applications for military family members. Only for enlisted soldiers.

I guess I´ll just have to go to the interview myself and bring his orders.

You'll be fine. Plenty of family members had to go to USCIS interviews alone. Just bring his deployment orders and the usual marriage paperwork- Deers enrollment, tax, bank statements, lease/mortgage and similar.
