green card never delivered; I90 for replacement denied; international travel

I received a letter ( I797A) from USCIS stating my application for the permanent residency was approved in August 2016. However, I never received the physical green card. According to USCIS/USPS, it was delivered in August 2016. I filed I90 for a replacement card in October 2016 and after waiting for it for a year, they denied my I90.  The reason is not known yet as i only received the electronic notice yesterday(the day before my international trip) and the physical letter which is supposed to have the reason for denial

has not been delivered yet. I'm attending my friend's wedding in Asia and am leaving the country today.

Does anyone know if this would have an impact on my ability to be readmitted to the US when i retuen from my trip?

thank you in advance for your help.

So you don't have a green card, but do you have a current I-551 stamp in your passport? How do you plan to board the plane back to the US? You're still an LPR, but without documentation of that, they won't let you board the return flight.

You need to make an InfoPass appointment to get an I-551 stamp to act as a temporary green card for 1 year. This really should have been done back when you filed for the replacement card IMO (and a new one after that 1-year I-551 stamp expired). Unfortunately, I'm quite doubtful you can see somebody today even if you did a walk-in.

I doubt they have a current AP if AOS was approved in August 2016 (you can't get a new one if you're an LPR, and they're only valid for up to 1 year based on AOS).

Sorry, I forgot to note that I do have I551 stamp on a valid passport. my I551is balid until April 2018. I got the stamp before i learned about the I90 rejection.

You're fine then. That is a temporary green card. Just be sure to carry your passport (obviously) and proof of a name change (if any), such as a marriage certificate.

thank you. This may be a dumb question but it would not impact the ability to work in the US would it?

Nope, you're still fine to work. An employer cannot dictate what documents you need to show to prove eligibility to work (i.e. they cannot require the physical green card instead of the stamp).

I was approved on june 2017, on august 2017 my EAD and AP expired and I forgot to renew, this is the reason why I got stamp on my passport.
