Hey guys,

Just thought I would let you know this past Friday I had two anxiety attacks, never had them before and they were NOT fun! We called Keith's dad cause he is a respiratory thereapist and told us what to do.

Since that day, my chest hurts, i have tingles everywhere, my heart all of a sudden starts beating really fast, my breasts get this sharp pain and i have something that feels like a lump in my throat. I have no clue what is going on and its starting to freak me out. Hubby works nights so being alone all night doesnt help either. Anyway, just thought I would let you know, and please pray that everything is alright.

Oh Stina, I get the SAME exact thing and Karen(Kajikit) referred me to a website for women that deals with anxiety..I'll have to look it up for you. I just started getting them a few months ago, and oh SOOO scary!!!! I don't blame you...I totally freaked out about it at first too, and they stillmake me very uncomfortable. Everyone is different, but I get mine mainly at bedtime for some reason...dunno. Had/have the same symtoms as you, and others have posted the same here, so we know how you feel. Try not to worry, as scary as it is, because you'll be alright. That's the main thing to remember IMO: anxiety attacks are very very frightening, but they can't hurt you. (((HUGS))) and take care...Michelle

I'll pray for you! (F)

But go see a doctor...maybe he'll prescribe something to make you feel better!

You're probably just stressed out so just going to the doc is already going to help.... wondering what is wrong with you makes the simptoms worse sometimes!

You're in my prayers!! Good luck! :star:

I have to agree! Dave used to feel this way everynight before going to bed too and it just stoped with medication..... axiety can go away, sometimes with therapy, sometimes with medication, sometimes both... a doctor will help finding what's the best for you!

awwwwww Stina. :( Sorry you're going through it. I'm off to bed in a minute too, hoping not to have one! :) I take lorazepam when I do have one, and it does seem to help me some but not totally. Something inside of me just seems to be triggering it, and I don't know why..it doesn't even always happen when I'm really (consciously at least!) stressed out or anything..sometimes I'm feeling perfectly happy and calm..it just ..happens! It is awfully scary tho, so I really feel for you. :( Medication helps some(as I said..me) and some feel that you can control anxiety through other techniques as well(breathing, etc etc). I think a trip to the Doctor may be in order as well, if just to ease your mind that nothing is wrong...and I'm fairly certain it's not..as I said, just to ease YOUR mind. All the very best to you, and PM me if you'd like and if you ever want to talk my yahoo messenger is Michellemybelle727. Off to bed for tonight...take good care of yourself...Michelle

***Hugs*** to you Stina, I know the feeling only too well. Stress can do amazing things to you and you do not relate them to stress, aches pains, it's terrible but I would get a check up anyway.

I was put on Valium a few years ago through stress to stop me having a breakdown so I know the signs for myself, if I feel I am getting like that through this process ( all the time now) I take some herbal tablets and they seem to work for me.

Hope you start to feel better soon Stina

Thanks guys, this is crazy. One and a half hours later and I am still sitting here, tingling, nauseaous, muscle pain etc. I feel like I'm going to die. I want to take something to help me sleep but I am scared to sleep. It may sound stupid but I fear I may die in my sleep or something. At least Keith is home in 3 hours.

awwwwwww Stina :( Im sorry you are feeling this way....how scary for you. Try concentrating on breathing and count as you do so and turn the radio up to try and distract you from making this worse by thinking about it. Maybe long term getting to know your neighbours really well may help you increase your sense of security when hubby is at work at night which may help aleviate this feeling. Biggest hugs sweetie (F)

I agree a docs visit is prolly a good idea.

If panicking breathing gets real bad tho - breathe into a PAPER bag (not plastic!!! HAS to be paper!) as it will automatically slow your breathing as you re-inhale co2. Its a quick fix to help you keep control and stop you freaking out. Once your breathing slows you can take the bag away and breathe slowly and deeply.

Any kind of relaxation technique is helpful with anxiety attacks - yoga is especially good as it helps you focus on slow long breaths. Meditation is an excellent way to lower your heart rate and center yourself.

Also lavender oil (do not put this directly on your skin!) is a great de-stressor - calms the mind.

This process can make your body do some strange things. :(

Are you nervous staying alone at night when your hubby is working?

I had months of not being able to get much sleep here. Just laying awake till 5 in the morning. I still do most nights. My mind just wont stop sometimes. I did go to the doctors becasue my heart rate was really up high. It just felt like my heart was going to pump right out of my chest. It is scary, so I know how you feel. You should make sure to see a doctor. My blood pressure was way up with stress too. Which I never had high blood pressure before.

Just try and take care of yourself Stina. I hope you get some rest today and feel better. (F)

This process can make your body do some strange things. :( like Peggy said. I would make an appointment to see a doctor and maybe get some medications.
