@GoodbyeGirl  Wow. you just opened a big can of worms for me.. thank you so much for mentioning this.

The receipt number I got on my NOA actually says my case has been transfered to my local office (Woohooo!!).

3 months ago I was told this receipt number was useless and given a new receipt number (which was supposed to be on my Biometrics apt. notice)

So I completely stopped using the old recepit number. Anyway. I guess i am on the same page as you guys now :D

Super exciting that these cases are being moved.

Thank you again for mentioning the old receipt number @GoodbyeGirl true legend.

Glad you are smiling @jadeswanson :) I'm not really sure what these case transfers mean. I really hope it's a good thing but I'd like to see something official from USCIS about it while we wait to see case approval improvement times.  In the meantime, I'm happy to see something happening, even if it just turns out to be activity rather than actual movement.

A tier 2 told me today that cases are moved to local offices when they are being prepped for interview. So I am really hoping this doesn't mean that all I-751s are required to sit interviews from here on out. I don't mind an interview, but as I didn't have one for the 2-year green card, I was hoping to be approved without one.

Definitely seems like we all are being transferred to local offices, I’m glad it seems to be moving now... let’s hope it doesn’t take them another 3 - 4 months for biometrics appointment.

I think its a good thing.

From what i've noticed is that the people who go through an interview process get their cases to a decision before those who don't go through an interview. Considering they get approved on the day of the interview. (i could be wrong with this but this is just what i believe i have found).

I am hoping for an interview so we can get this over and done with sooner but with my luck... will be in this for the long haul.

If the transfers are in fact happening, I reckon we should get word from USCIS at some point. Until then, I'm tamping my excitement. It does seem odd that USCIS would shift such a large number of ROC cases in such quick order and the updates magically appear. It'd look more realistic if something like this was done in batches.

I wonder if there's a way to contact a local Field Office (not USCIS reps) and verify if they were in fact getting the i751 workload.

@WeGuyGal I wish I knew how! The only way I'm aware of is to make an infopass apt. I'm not sure if my local office accept walk-ins. There's no email or chat, or social media to talk to them. When I called their number, all I got was a recorded announcement saying the office was open that day. And it was a Sunday. ^_^

This message is also now showing for my October 2017 filed I-751 - which should indeed be on its way to the local office for adjudication with my N-400.

However, I certainly didn't get this message when my original I-751 (may 2015) WAS transferred to a local office for an interview.

Still haven't seen anything that points to this being anything other than a glitch at this point.

CR1 / DCF (London): 2012 / 2013 (4 months from I-130 petition to visa in hand)

I-751 #1- April 2015 [Denied]

April 2015 : I-751 Joint filing package sent fedex next day 09:00am from UK ($lots - thanks).
Jan 2017: Notification that an interview has been scheduled at a local office. Bizarrely still no RFE...
Jan 2017: 2hr wait, then interview terminated before it began, due to moving my ID to another state 2 wks prior. New interview 'in a few months...maybe.'   Informed them that divorce proceedings are underway, but not finalised at this time.
March 2017: An Interview was scheduled - marked as no-show as they didn't actually send out a notification of interview. FML
April  2017: Filed an official complaint with the ombudsman, and have requested Senator & Congressman assistance
August 2017: Interview - switched to a (finalised) divorce waiver. Told that decision will be made that afternoon, but no problems foreseen with my case.
October 2017: Letter of Denial received - reason given as 'I-751 petition was not properly filed'. Discovered ex-spouse made false allegations to USCIS in 2015. No opportunity given to review & refute allegations  - contrary to USCIS policy.

I-751 #2 - Oct 2017 - Mar 2021[Denied]

October 2017: Within 72hrs of receiving denial notice, a new waiver I-751, divorce decree & $680 cheque, sent to Vermont via FedEx overnight 9am priority.
Dec 2019: Filed FOIA request for full A# file
Feb 2020: FOIA request completed - entire A# file received as a .PDF; 197 pages fully redacted, and 80 partially redacted. Don't waste your time!
March 2021: I-751 #2 denied for lack of evidence. No RFE, no interview, and evidence in previous I-751 not reviewed - contrary to policy. Huge errors in adjudication.

N-400 - Feb 2018 - Apr 2021 [Denied]

February 2018: N-400 filed online.  $725 paid to the USCIS paperwork wastage fund

February  2019: Interview - cancelled after a four hour wait due to 'missing paperwork' on their end. Promised Expedited reschedule.

March 2021: Interview letter received, strangely dated after I-751 denial. No I-751 interview conducted. N-400 interview and test passed, given 'cannot make a decision at this time' paper due to the ongoing I-751 nightmare...

April 2021: N-400 denial received citing recent I-751 denial as basis for ineligibility, even though it should have been a combo interview 🤯

I AM JACK'S COMPLETE LACK OF SURPRISE

Service Motion - March 2021 [Sent via FedEx & COMPLETELY IGNORED by USCIS]

March 2021: Service Motion request sent overnight addressed direectly to field office director, requesting urgent review and re-opening, based on errors in adjudication - citing USCIS policy, AFM and memorandums as basis for errors. This was completely ignored by USCIS.

 I-751 #3 - June 2021 - Jan 2024 [Denied]

IT'S GROUNDHOG DAY

June 2021: I-751 #3 (30+lbs/5000 pages of paperwork) & another $680 sent to USCIS via FedEx ($300+..thanks) ....

June 2021: Receipt issued, card charged, biometrics waived, infopass scheduled for I-551 stamp number ten.....

Feb 2022: RFIE (no, not an RFE, a Request For Initial Evidence) received, for copies of the divorce paperwork that they already have 😑

July 2022: Infopass for I-551 stamp number eleven.....

August 2023: Infopass for I-551 stamp number twelve....

January 2024: Denial received, ignoring the overwhelming majority of the filing, abundance of evidence, and refutation of a provably false allegation. The denial also contradicts itself in multiple places, as if it was written by someone with an IQ <50.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

2024: FML. Seriously. I'm done.

As excited I was this morning, I think this looks more and more like a glitch.  I hope I am wrong though!

But it is possible USCIS finally decided to do something about the significant wait times for i751s, esp CSC, if this indeed turns out to be true.

Being that we originally couldn’t look up the first NOA case number, only the second biometrics one... but now we can look up both...  TBH, I feel like maybe they just added the functionality to the case status website to see the case transfer status now.

As many have mentioned originally getting errors with checking case status on the first NOA case number... the IT side of me thinks that just added this function which triggered a large batch of data exported and/or notifications dispatched through the status website, hence why people can do lookups and see case history now.

The odd thing I see is if it was a large batch data export, aka a glitch, shouldn't it have affected all case numbers at the same time?

I started reading about the handful of transfer messages in these forums through the weekend into Monday. I checked my case status online Monday, I got the error as before. But it changed to the transfer message when I checked again Tuesday morning.

Yeah, that’s a good point.  Unless it just took a while for all the data to be available given then sheer number of cases being processed hence the backlog.

I’m sure were all anxiously awaiting something to happen.  Interested in hearing if any official info is substantiated from all this case transfer chatter.

Many folks are seeing Case Was Received At My Local Office in their online status because they have transferred the case to the nearest office to make a decision. From here you may or may not need an interview. Also sometimes they transfer cases between each service centers to balance the workload. You can track those here - https://www.uscis.gov/workload-transfers

Hi! We can find out about approval timing based on approvals from past years/months...look at approved cases and see difference in time between interview and approval and we can guesstimate...
