Hi - yes, I just yesterday got my dad's case #s.

Re. your question about passport, see Passport section at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/interview/applicant-interview.html

The Affidavit of Support is to be filled by the Petitioner and requires supporting documents from Petitioner. I am sorry, I don't know what form applies to your case, but if you are the Petitioner, then the forms should be filled by you and/or any other joint sponsors.

Good Morning everybody.

My parents and I have finally submitted everything online, so just waiting for an internview and medical dates.

As they had to upload scans of my birth and marriage certificate, do I need to send my originals over so they can take them to the interview?

My daughter is sending her original marriage certificate over FedEx.  We brought  her original birth certificate back with us last visit as we knew we needed that.  The marriage cert was a surprise as it wasn't listed on civil docs list.

Good luck

My folks have got a certified copy of my birth certificate from the general registrars office, I was also surprised about the marriage certificate , but suppose will have to fedex it across. It also worries me as I don’t want to lose any of these documents?

Do you have an interview date yet?

Hi all!

I called the NVC last June 19 (marked as 8weeks since they received my case)

June 21 got my MNL case number through email and June 22 got NVC welcome letter through email.

Question:

Should I proceed now do the step 1?

My mother don't have her passport yet because her birth certificate had correction.

@adar24 enlighten me

No interview date yet - just more waiting.  I don't think it is usually that long.  Will keep the forum updated.

Hi - Congrats on getting the case #. The passport number will be needed during DS-260 submission. It is up to you as to when you do that step. You don't need the passport number for paying the fees or filling in the DS-261. If you wish, you can proceed with those while you wait for your mom's passport.

Hope this helps. Good luck. Keep us updated and help out others by responding to their questions if you know the answers. This forum works only if everyone contributes both ways :)

Hi - I have had better luck in the afternoons - shorter calling time. The longest I have been on hold when I called in the afternoon is 20 mins. Maybe try that? Also, might be worth trying to send the case to Tier 2 (Supervisor) - I don't know if that happens on its own or only when one requests it.

Thank you for advice! I finally managed to call them and they told that cases still were in line for quality check and they have no any times frames. But just in few days after call to NVC we got numbers of cases, so it took 14 weeks. Now we paid fees and are waiting for "paid" status.

As i see we dont need to choose an agent on line, right?

That is correct although you can if you need to.

It took 3 days for my funds to clear to paid from a US bank account.  Be ready for a long day on the computer filling in DS260s and uploading all the docs needed.

Just want to ask what are the docs that need to prepare?

So that people like me waiting for case number can prepare.

Thank you in advance
