Hello, everyone. I want to ask who had any experience in proving US domicile for DOD contractors? I am living in Kuwait with my fiance and we are arranging the needed documents for the K1 visa interview. We are still waiting for our NOA2 but we want to prepare ahead of time, hoping to get married before New Years.  Are there specific documents to prove his domicile? My fiance has a yearly contract with a third party US firm. I have read some forums that the petitioner had to write a letter indicating he will not renew his contract, I do not want him to resign from his job if the visa will be rejected. Thanks in advance to those who can assist me in this topic.

Hi! My fiance works as a DOD contractor in Kuwait as well. I had my interview last month in Abu Dhabi and got a 221g which is a temporary refusal. The CO asked for more proof of domicile and a letter from my fiance stating future plans.  During the interview I gave them his W2 from 2014-2016, 1040 and 1099 forms, bank statements, loan agreement and mortgage papers, and utility bills under his name. Just last Thursday, I sent the additional documents which I assume they need (since they never mentioned what specific papers they want) along with my passport. Hopefully I'll hear good news from the embassy within the week.

Why did you decide to take such a long route? Spouse visa for a DOD contractor would be such an easy way with the opportunity to get naturalized under 319b if you meet certain requirements straight after.

I was a DOD Contractor in Afghanistan when I filed for my fiance now wife. Luckily I kept my DL current, filed my taxes, and I did use a lawyer for my case. I used a lawyer and I used my parent's house as my home of record. Everything went smoothly and 9 months later we were both in the USA together. Do you plan on moving back to and living in the USA once her case is complete?

Hi, Lenchick. My fiance and I have been discussing about our options, either the spousal visa or the fiance visa. I am a Filipino and I can't get a tourist visa to meet his family and friends because the Philippines is a high fraud country. I did apply for one but was denied.

Family is very important in our culture.  Both my parents passed away already, my fiance is the eldest in his family and I want his parents to be there in our wedding. It will be expensive to bring his family to the Philippines though, a round trip ticket will cost at least $1000 per person. I might as well go to the US and meet all his family and friends before the holidays. I am thankful that his family and friends are excited to be part of our wedding, we already made plans for the venue and everything else.

Hello, we haven't decided yet on what to do. We are waiting until the visa will be approved. He is earning a decent income here in Kuwait and I am working as a nurse here also.
