No instead this writer only wanted damage to occur to very specific people that they did not agree with politically.  That is just so sad as there is no one out there that deserves damage, or injury, and no one should be wishing it upon anyone else.  But I guess that is what we get with this writer and all the apologists for them.

Poetic Justice is a complicated term. I would say there would be some irony based on how those folks particular profit from lying to the guilable about gobal climate change. They are not nice people when they single out others so I don't know why we need to be so sensitive about their feelings. 

 

I cannot even figure out how this issue became partisan. There is no scientific basis to deny where the existing CO2 is going, we can see the CO2 levels rise and we can reproduce the greenhouse effect in lab experiments. We can measure changes in glaciers, measure ocean acidification and measure changes in average air and ocean surface temps. 

 

 

What us stopping us from taking action?

What is it about this.  As Naitch said, it is reprehensible to wish harm, damage, poetic justice, etc., on anyone regardless of their political bent period.

I don't have time to go into the list of all the vitriolic statement s these folks have made about others.  Let's just say they are not victims in the war if words.

So now it is #######-for-tat?  Again, reprehensible to wish harm, damage, poetic justice, etc. to anyone period.  In politics there is a lot of vitriol spewed by many.  Heck, Hillary called me a deplorable, but I would never ever wish physical harm, property damage, or poetic justice on her or her family.  Will I point out her hypocrisy, sure, but that can be done without personal attack.

How did you go from violence and property damage to poetic Justice?  What us the equivilancy? What us the harm to Rush ? Did he suddenly develop a thin skin?  I am not an advocate for the author, I just wonder why we care.

Apologizing or justifying the words of this author is as bad as what Trump did after Charlottesville.  Again, wishing poetic justice on someone you disagree with politically is a reprehensible act.  In this case, the author chooses their words carefully, but the context is clear, these people are hypocrites and they deserve to be ironically punished by something bad happening to them in this case from a natural disaster because they don't believe in global warming.  It doesn't matter what they said or say since we have freedom of speech and the press, they can say reprehensible things, and the press can write reprehensible things, wishing poetic justice on anyone is never justified no matter how hypocritical or reprehensible you believe a person is.

   I believe the use of the phrase "poetic justice" would be a reference to their stance on climate change in general, not their political affiliation.

  Changing the context of what the author said or misrepresenting it is also bad. That is what people were objecting to in the first place. 

 

  I don't think the author should have wrote this either. It serves no one, and even if you disagree with someone, I don't consider kicking people while they are down to be fair game, especially for forum banter. I am fine with the other media (newsbusters) criticizing the author based on what he said, but not with them using hyperbole and changing the context to make it seem worse.

 

  I do think newsbusters realized that in the overall scheme of things, this was a relatively innocuous comment by a relatively unknown writer. It probably didn't merit a response as it was written, thus the resort to hyperbole and misdirection. Unfortunately a far too common occurrence in today's media.

Then why the choice to defend this writer?  How about the folks that attacked Eric Bolling and told us it was poetic justice his son was killed.  There is no moral high ground here.
