It is possible that IO will give you "Decision can't be made" because you changed the name after you were fingerprinted; and sometimes, it does require you to be fingerprinted again. To save time, make an Infopass or simple go to ELIS, make an inquiry as well as upload your Decree.

I changed my name and it was finalized on August 16, I applied on December 16.

Hi Everyone,

Glad I found this thread. I applied in late May 2017, the online case shows that on July 19, 2017 they started the interview scheduling process.

Should I have received my interview by now? Should I write a letter to the office? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

J

I have recently moved to the bay area and my file has been transfered to San Francisco field office. I've been "in line" since mid Nov. Does anyone have any idea how many more months for me to be scheduled for interview? I've heard the SF field office is pretty backed up, but they usually go through the interview process pretty fast since I've heard they interview 40-50 people a week?  is this even true?

Based on the USCIS N400 2017Q4 report: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Resources/Reports and Studies/Immigration Forms Data/Naturalization Data/N400_performancedata_fy2017_qtr4.pdf. SF processed more than 8,000 N400 cases between July 1st and Sep 30th. That is more than 600 cases per week. There were still 25,769 N400 cases pending as of Sep 30th.

Yep, some field offices are pretty fast at scheduling interviews, SF is definitely not one of them.

If everything goes well,  you might be looking at Oath around late May/early June 2018.

254 days total for me.
