you might want to double check with nvc about your financial documents. If they lost those or if your lawyer forgot to send those, then you might get a check list

Hi guys, checking in

1st Scan date : June 8th

Checklist : August 24th

2nd Scan date : August 30th

I only wish I had discovered these Visa Journeys forums earlier, I would've probably never gotten a checklist. I discovered VJ couple days before receiving a checklist, and as soon as I started reading through I knew I was getting one even before I received the email. @JBMG and @dwheels76 you guys are doing a remarkable work here. You're making this journey really smoother for all of us. Ever since I discovered VJ I don't spend a day without going through it. It feels good to read people who are going through the same thing, who can understand your pain and frustration.

Good Luck to all of us.

Hello all! I've been watching these forums from a distance since we first filed last October 2016 (our priority date is 12 October 2016) but finally I am joining in the conversation, because you all seem so wonderful and supportive of each other, and I've been panicking on my own for so long that I think it's time to reach out to other people who understand...

Long story short - I'm a dual citizen (US & Australian) born in the USA with an American father but grew up in Australia. I met my husband in my hometown in Aus (he's also Australian) but we moved to London together. We got married on Oct 3 2015, and have lived together since 2014 (with no time living apart).

Our original scan date was 4 August. However, a while later I saw on these forums that I should send my husband's residence permit/landing papers in to avoid a checklist (as my husband is an Australian citizen and we are both currently residing in London) so I did - and our second scan date was 17 August. We are now at week 5 and I'm holding my breath & praying that all will be ok!

I sent heavy evidence regarding my domicile as I grew up abroad, but am being transferred to the US by my company and fully intend to live there for good... I'm just nervous because the case isn't standard.

We both live abroad, but didn't do DCF because at the time, it would have been too fast for us, but after our I-130 dragged on so long I do think that was a mistake...

Also I'm freaking out because our UK residence permits expire on 9 January, so if Alex's visa isn't issued before then he'll have to go to Australia (where we haven't lived for two years!) and transfer the case there for the interview, while I move to the US alone.

I know it's not the end of the world, especially compared to so many of you who spend so much time apart from your spouses, but I think because we are always together the thought of spending months apart and getting an apartment set up etc on my own is terrifying...
