No! Filing online will not move your application faster (with proof)

We've had few who filed on ELIS and their N400 approved as soon as 2-3 months. Their testimonials have encouraged many of us to file online.

A quick look of June ELIS filer shows so far, although many paper based applications have moved to "In line for Interview",None of ELIS filer has.

I myself filed on June 12th, had my biometrics done on June 20th and waiting for my status to change to "In line for interview scheduling"

Again, the data is not sufficient enough and my hypothesis is that filling on ELIS isn't going to expedite your application.

That makes sense to me. Online filling is just another method which is more convenient than paper filling since you don't have to mail it. If online filling is processed faster, it wouldn't be fair for paper filers.

I disagree when you claimed "Filing online wouldn't expedite the case." By looking at the regular timeline for all NBC filers, it must take more than 7 months for busy office or even 8 months for the busiest office to complete the whole process. However, some online filers are finished the process much sooner than expected. 

You just have been waiting for less than 2 months and please look at how other people are waiting. 

I am February Filer and I have been waiting for more than 7 months for an interview and it is not yet happened to me. 

Please don't claim anything until you have enough datas (as you said) to make a good statement.

I filed online in July, and have to (so far) disagree with you...

From July 18th filing date, to August 8th (today)...I have had my application received, my credit card payment processed, my NOA received in the mail, my fingerprinting appointment scheduled, my fingerprinting appointment received in the mail, and my biometrics completed.

 

That's all in less than one month, for me.

Everyone's case and opinions will vary, but I don't believe I would have all of the above completed as quickly if I had filed by mail-in application.

 

According to my online case status, ELIS has projected my case will be completed by January 2018.  Approximately 6 months from the date of filing.

 

Just my opinion, and my own proof regarding my own online filing experience thus far.

In the table you showed in the original post, it clearly shows two online filers who have moved to "in line for interview".  One was placed in line less than a week after fingerprinting, the other approximately three weeks after.

Based on my personal experience, the filing online will help expediting the process up to fingerprinting. I filed online, got my NOA, cc charged on the same day. Within 2 days, my biometrics was scheduled for the next 13 days. 

 

After that, from what I observed, it depends on your field office. I got estimated completion date on April 2018 (8 months). And I consider that very fast since my application is processed by Dallas FO (which is considered the slowest in the country). 

 

This whole process will not happen in a month or two but, so far, my application has been moving along quite impressively. I am happy if they finish my application within a year.

This is very new information. I have checkeck my friend's application and he was projected to finish the whole process by Jan 18. It also projects the Interview will be schedule in 4 months. Incredible but we don't put too much hopes into this projection.

I didn't see an interview date projection---just the case completion projection.  Mind you, I was so excited to see that, I didn't bother checking for the interview portion of it (I just discovered this very new information myself an hour or so ago).

 

Even if the projected date is off by a month or so, I do like how online filing seems to keep one more updated on things, in general (the PDFs, last activity dates to tell you when someone has touched your case for whatever reason, etc.).

 

I'm hoping I never, ever need it---but it's also good that any RFE's can be responded to almost immediately since any requested further documentation can be uploaded in minutes instead having to mail it off and wait for it to get there.  That would be another way online filing would speed things up if applicable to one's case.

If yes, they will include your Estimated wait time until [they] schedule your interview when you clicked "View Case Activities"

If no, they are reviewing your Biometrics and will notify you soon.

I only completed my biometrics today, so I doubt they have figured out the estimated wait time until interview.

So far all I can see is the projected case completion date---plan on checking it again in a week or so

Most office will estimate like 6 months for the whole process but for now take longer than 6 months.

I checked this morning...while it still says they are "reviewing my biometrics" (I had my fingerprinting only yesterday) is does now show an estimated wait time of 5 months until my interview is scheduled.
