I have a 9 years old kid who has a valid green card , I was told that I can not apply for a citizenship application for my kid until I become a citizen myself , I'm still waiting for my citizenship interview

my question is I'm planning to go overseas in couple month and my kid egyption passport has expired is there anyway I can get a U.S passport for my kid or do I have to apply for a travel document for her ?

for now, neither

unless your trip is after the Oath ceremony, then you can get a US passport for her before you travel and after having the citizenship certificate

but just in case, I'd renew her current passport, she doesn't need a travel document, she has a GC, she can travel with her current passport that has to be renewed and to enter the US, she will use her GC
