so shocking that they didn't lock down the school after the first shooting.

How do you lockdown a mulit-block, multi-building campus esp early in the morning when 1000s of studnets are arriving?

Why do they have to report nationality? It is irrelevant, and is sort of inducing stereotypes to readers who already hate Koreans.

Do you think it would be relevant if he was an Iranian national?

Touche. It can't be done. Especially when so many students are commuters, not like this was some tiny elite residential school.

Heck yeah, damn Persians, first they build nukes and now this!

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

no one said it would be easy, but a mass email is poorly inadequate.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Their dormitory are computer controlled with a magnetic card key. The computers can physically lock up all the doors. The campus police can set road blocks to prevent commuting students from entering. Enough things would've been done if given the command from the President or Chancellor of the Institution.

Because he must have been suffering with a mental illness and he just snapped... and as one of God's children why should his god not have mercy on him...

Hate is an easy thing.... forgivness is much harder....

Why is the only option "lockdown"? What's wrong with cancelling classes like they did earlier this year when someone thought they saw the 'escaped con' in the student union during that whole prison break manhunt?

They couldn't shut down a city, but the kids aren't stuck in classrooms like fish in a barrel if classes are cancelled. It's not like dormitory shootings are so common that having a policy of 'when there's a double homicide and the gunman's escaped, cancel classes and have kids go to their dorms' would be a huge inconvenience.

Actually, that's what I meant by 'lockdown'...just cancel all classes, block the roads in so that students cannot come in. Just take steps which acknowledge the fact that a double homicide took place...not just carry on as usual.

This is what's really eating at me. They say the police thought that the gunman had left campus. But they don't say why they thought that. Is it because they just figured that would be the case, or they had some actual reason to believe that he had left campus. I'd like to find out more about this, because to me "police thought he had left campus" means "we fukced up big time and are now trying to cover our a$$es".
