I just read on that Collegiate Times website that the parents' suicide rumor was proved false.

i've hunted for more info on it just now, not found anything. the source for that was a co-worker's korean wife, who saw that on a korean chat board (which quickly became silent once the nationality of the shooter was released).

careful, you're starting to sound like a liberal.

Now that is harsh... Under the belt n'######

I cannot even imagine how this kids parents and sister feels.. Seriously what would be running through their minds. Especially his sister who was enrolled in Princeton..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

We should blame ourselves as a society when this happens. A young immigrant child, where 34 deaths and hundreds of relatives and friends in sheer pain right now all could have been prevented if someone perhaps said "hi" or "want to hang out". I feel so awful for this misguided kid, and 33 people were all victims of his misguidance.

Stop it. He is *NOT* the victim here. He's a worthless piece of chit and the only good thing about this story is he offed himself.

the kid's last action shoulda been his first.

 Same as all hostage situations or murder suicides.

While I went through my fair share of depression in the teenage years, I can't understand the level of hopelessness that a person must feel if they seriously think that topping yourself is the only solution. This is on a whole other level and even more inexplicable - it seems there is a bit of ego involved given the reports that there was a romantic interest involved. The "if I can't have her, no-one will" rationale perhaps?

I was with my ex-wife for nearly 7 years and while things weren't great I thought we were working it out. Just before the end of our marriage I found out she was romantically involved with her boss. Nice, eh? Needless to say that didn't work out. ;) Anyway, I can't say I considered anything as crazy as murder suicide but I can say was miserable and depressed. It took me several months to adjust to living alone again. Oh, and going from a DINC to a SINC is *not* easy. Hopeless and depression are one thing. Premeditated mass murder is another.

I agree with you (theres a shocker), but you have to concider, not everyone handles situations like that the same way. Your a imo partially sane person ( :P ), you would do things more rational than someone with mild mental problems, they would do something edgy but not as bad as someone with serious mental probs, but think of the SEVERE mental, they dont think rational at all. we may never know his full background, but i dont think this ONE event made his this mentally unstable, he isolated himself in college, think about that, when you go to college you want to interact with other, its part of the college experience, meeting new ppl. He has prolly had sever mental issues his whole life. And for whatever happened (a romantic prob or anything) prolly just threw him over the edge. Im not trying to make excuses for this guy, he did take 33 innocent lifes, it angers me, and it saddens me, but SANE ppl dont go around killing other ppl. all of this being MY OPINION! :)

I totally agree that this guy was totally mentally unbalanced. I could understand how someone could be so heartbroken and angry that they could take it out on the other person and/or their new partner. Killing innocent people who were not involved is way beyond that.

I'm reading a story on Yahoo about this guy's behavior leading up to it. All the signs were there. Quoted from that story, 'He said he and other students "were talking to each other with serious worry about whether he could be a school shooter."'.

I'm listening to sports talk radio at the moment but this story continues to be a topic on and off. They said Cho had two tattoo's - one related to Islam (don't remember the word) and the other the name of a book (can't remember the name). I don't see anything about these tattoos in the news and like I said, it's a sports talk show so consider the source.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

They only mentioned this once about an hour ago and I didn't see it reported anywhere else. I don't know their source either. Maybe they did say it but I didn't hear it - I only half listen to them during the work day. If there is any truth to it I would expect it to spread like wildfire.

I really hope this Cho has no ties to Islam. It would only as fuel to the fire for those who blame all Muslims for terrorism.
