'Is This a Parody Segment?': Tucker Debates 'Calexit' Supporter Who Calls CA 'Not the US'

This guy is the leader of CalExit?  Interesting how he has no care at all about the exit of many in the middle class.

 

Tucker Carlson reported that the United States may lose a star on its flag for the first time ever, if "Calexit" becomes reality.

Carlson said the Calexit movement wants California to become an independent country through a ballot initiative in 2018 that would require 585,000 signatures to get started.

Shankar Singam, a supporter of Calexit and vice president of the California Freedom Coalition, told Carlson such a split does not have to be "hostile."

Carlson noted South Carolina split from the Union in the 1860s, only to reenter it after the Civil War was won by the Grand Army of the Republic.

"Do you fully comprehend the implications of this?" Carlson asked. "Why would the rest of us Americans let California go without a war?"

I actually watched that last night. I'm not a fan of Tucker but sometimes he does entertain me, and the look on his face was priceless, like 'I can't believe I'm actually hearing this #######'. That dude was crazy, if he's a leader you can bet California will be a part of the US for a very long time to come.

If they don't feel like they want to be part of the US, they can always pack their ####### up and leave. This tantrum method won't work out their way.

 

But I can see where they feel empowered to publicly espouse this stupidity. Thank their enablers, the left in California.

Heck, this guy already believes CA is separate and that every Californian thinks like him.

He's right about the bold part, though not to that extreme.. the vast majority of Californians think like him. I'd station a huge chunk of ICE agents there and start doing mass deportations until they get the message.

I wish Tucker had delved into the economics of separation more than he did.  He started talking about federal lands and military bases, and this guy just seems to think that property would revert to CA and they would lease it back to the US.  There is also something to be said about the CA portion of the national debt they would need to take on which seems to be the elephant in the room no one wants to discuss.

The left don't believe in debt.. or at least the idea that there's such a thing as too much. So debt is inconsequential for them. They'd quickly turn whats left of a prosperous state and turn it effectively into Mexico. Then the rest of the US gets to look forward to fleeing Californians.
