Visa/Passport just came in, but top corner is completely torn off

Hi everyone,

 

After about 2 weeks of waiting, we finally received our visa package. Unfortunately, the entire top corner seems to be torn right off. I saw some other posts from a few years ago, and people were pretty mixed about whether it would be fine or not. Unfortunately, the images from back then had expired, so I wasn't able to see just how bad it was in comparison to how ours is.

 

On another note, I've tried contacting the consulate in Montreal to see what they think about this, but no number that I've found was able to get me to a live person. Is there any chance any of you know where I can get in contact with a live person to ask them?

It should be a non issue. The hole is not large enough for you or anyone to remove any documents. Torn envelopes is a common problem if you look up old threads.

No worries. The yellow pack has to be cut on the corner for custom porpose in case they want to see what you carry on that file. Mine was same as yours so no problems :). Good luck !

The corner on our pack was cut neatly.....I would not worry

Same here and had zero issues at POE last year.

Completely normal. Some will get theirs with that cut in it and some don't. The embassy does it on purpose so it's all good.
