Yeah, it asks for the adjusted gross income. That includes all income sources (salary, investments, etc.) for both spouses, since it was MFJ. I'm in the same boat, although I'm using the I-864ez. it has the same question, just a different question number (Q.19 on the I-864; Q.6 on the I-864ez).

"My total income (adjusted gross income on IRS Form 1040EZ) as reported on my Federal income tax returns for the most recent three years was:"

To me that says to just report the adjusted gross income, and I am providing my W-2 to demonstrate what portion of that was my salary for each of the years.

From what I can tell you use the adjusted gross income or total income, depending on which version of the 1040 you file, 1040ez vs. 1040 or 1040a. (In my case the total income and adjusted gross income match anyway so it doesn't really matter) And then you submit your W-2 to show how much your income contributes to that to demonstrate your ability to meet the guidelines without your spouse's contribution. From what I have seen, the issue come about if the number on the i-864 does not match the tax transcript (which includes all income sources). Unfortunately I can't confirm for sure since I haven't submitted mine yet either, but that's what I've been able to find.

You don't need your wife's W2 :) You'll be putting in the AGI (includes both yours and your wife's income) found in your 1040. Then you will submit your W2 which would show your portion of the income that was used for tax filing.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

Only state your individual tax amount excluding your wife's. Besides the tax transcript, submit the W2 which reflects the individual tax amount that you input into the I-864 form :)

It was confusing because you said to only state his individual tax amount, but that isn't true for what he was asking about (3 years of taxes).

You are correct that when it asks for the "current individual annual income" in Part 6 Q2 that he should only put his individual income amount. But by my understanding he is asking about Part 6 Q19.a-c, which asks about the AGI on the tax documents, and there it is the actual AGI and the petitioner submits W-2's to document their actual contribution to that since the spouse's contribution to AGI doesn't count. However, the number in the boxes must match the total AGI/total income on the tax transcript/return (which is what I had originally said).

Yep, just print and then hand write it in. I even have to hand write in a few items that the form won't allow me to enter (like my husband's apartment number and phone number).

The i864 is a 2D-bar code form, you should complete it either completely electronically or completely in hand-writing. Forms that are electronically filled in are scanned when received and hand-written info is not registered in the 2D bar code. Unfortunately there have been automatically generated rfe's in some cases (depending on which information has been hand written, it seems some is required) due to "blank fields" that were in fact hand-written.

I don't believe this would matter for the "N\A" since fields that can be N/A'ed are not the most crucial fields relating to income and household size.

Also, if you try to fill it out in the web browser you will likely not be able to fill out some fields. Download the form and open it from the "file" "open" in adobe reader to make sure it is working properly.

I would guess so... but can't you just write NA without the "/" ... the special sign is the problem right?

or N.A.
