My name is James Beah,  I am the principal applicant of diversity visa and have attended interview with my wife and 2 months old daughter.

Questions such as my family members names and to spell them respectively, if I have received military training, fought wars,  benefited from terrorism or partaken of it,  travel to Liberia or Guinea, and what state would I be living In USA.

Of all the questions with the exception where I would be staying in USA the answers are NO.

Since the 15 June 2017, my visa status check is administrative processing.

The CO actually told me that they would get on to us later but less than 90 days and held on the photo copy of our documents except for the police clearance and our passport photos  which are originals.

My questions are:

* unlike us most of us that went for interview on that day which are on administrative processing, they were given back both passport and passport photo but our passports were given to us and the photos held back by the consular officer. Why was that?

* again why most of my questions were about security and even to spell my family members names for imputing.

* Though it was lesser than 90 days can I still contact the embassy after 60 days.

*What am I to expect before and after the 90 days.

***** Moving from Bringing Family to DV Visa for more answers ******

1.  Unsure.  Could be an oversight, could be they want them for facial recognition checks, or to show friends/ neighbours. coworkers while they do security checks.

2. Maybe there is someone with a similar name on a watchlist?  Maybe one of the documents you submitted has the name spelt slightly differently? Hard to say.

3.  You can, though they will probably just tell you to wait the full 90 days.

4.  You should get an answer, one way of the other.,

Which Consulate are you dealing with?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Not an obvious high risk location.

Not high risk security wise, but there is a fair amount of fraud on visa applications in that region so things like name spelling discrepancies do come under higher scrutiny.

It's just a month under AP so far, that's not too bad. Hard to say how long it will take all in all but these kind of things are often done in a couple of months.

Hello again my friends, in continuation with our current visa status check which is administrative processing which actually started on the day We went for the diversity visa interview ( 15th May 2017. The second time my last case updated change was the 19th May 2017. Then again today I have checked my status it is still administrative processing but case last update has changed to today 28th July 2017, which also marks 44 days in administrative processing.

I am confused as I was expecting the status to change to ready or issued.

However may I have different opinions or ideas as to why the change in the case last update instead of the status .

Please guys say something.
