Do I need translations at US embassy abroad?

It  may depend on the country. In Vietnam, all COs can read documents in Vietnamese so there is no need to translate. Documents sent to NVC still need to be translated though.

Regardless of being allowed or not. ALWAYS get international versions when available. The ones in the Netherlands are the same cost as the Dutch ones. And you never know if you need them down the line (uittrekselgeboorteregister is needed later on in the US and is available in international format). It saves you a lot of time and money further down the line.

Yes, good tip, thanks. The international versions of civil papers save effort and money.
