Hi Guys,

Im wondering if you can help me with my concern. Last January 2017 i had a medical exams with SLEC for my immigration requirement. My visa interview was set on January 26,2017 but i requested to change my interview date and was given a July 21, 2017 interview. My question is will my medical documents still be valid during my interview? i believe it is only good for 6 months. Should i inform SLEC or the embassy and get an extension of validity? Hoping for your kind assistance and guidance. Thank you.

Regards,

Jem

I don't think that they will be valid because the USEM medical validity is for 6 months. So you will have to get a new medical done before your interview.

Medical cannot be older than 6 months for the interview. That's why it is common practice and also the Embassy recommends that you complete your medical a few days prior to your interview. Your visa validity is based on the medical and if the issuance of the visa were to be toward the end of the medical validity then you have a very short window to get into the US before it expires. Hence the recommendation that the medical be taken just before the interview.

Your better off at this point to just redo your medical saving any problems at USEM and your interview.

You can't get an extension of validity, a 2nd medical will be required.

No real need to inform the embassy, they will be very aware and will most likely request you complete a new medical.

In regards to the visa the medical is only valid for 6 months, and you must be IN the USA before the 6 months expires.

Plan on having to pay a 2nd medical fee and complete a 2nd medical.

In regards to the visa the medical is valid for 6 months, and the visa is valid UP TO 6 months.   The medical itself is valid for a year when not in reference to the visa.. so it will be valid for filing AOS after marriage.

One questions.  Did you have to complete SPUTUM?
