NVC time frame ?

so I got my nvc number last week, I just wanted to know roughly how long do cases stay at the nvc?

Generally 1-2 weeks. I think mine was at the NVC for exactly 1 week last month. Sometimes it can take a bit longer for the case to be forwarded to the embassy, but the wait is rarely longer than 2 weeks. Just keep checking the CEAC tracker.

I've got the case number already! I just wanted to know how long they will have it there for :s

I would say calling. You might have to wait on hold for awhile if you call at a busy time, but at least you can talk to an actual person. The best time to call is right when they open in the morning around 7am EST. When I called at this time, I only had a 2 minute wait unlike when I called in the afternoon and waited nearly 40 minutes.

Thank youuu but that wasn't my question- it's already recieved (hence the case number). 

I just wanted to know how long it takes AFTER being assigned a case number- maybe I wasn't so clear?

Have you paid the fees and sent your documents? Just trying to figure out which step you are on.

No I've just been given a number at the moment - so the nvc have only just recieved it

I made another post before that one. It generally takes 1-2 weeks after receiving the case number for the NVC to forward your case to the embassy.

That step isn't needed for the K1 visa.

I called NVC a month after my I-130 was approved and they provided my case number and receipt number. From there I was able to login to their website and pay the fees. With the help of my lawyer we were able to complete the forms and send the documents 10 days later.

If the number just been assigned, then within a week or 2 you will be done paying the fees, completing the forms and sending your documents.  Once the documents are received by the NVC, it's about 11 weeks form the date of Scanned Date to get a case complete.  That's if you don't get a checklist

Sorry, my bad. Not familiar with the K-1 visa.

They are doing the K1 visa, so there are no fees that need to be paid or documents to send to the NVC stage. That applies to CR/IR visas, but not K1.
