Hi again,

I have another question (I am suddenly remembering all sorts of questions as the days draw closer to the big file date)

My question is: What did you do about your personal information showing on your documents like for example: bank statements, did you leave your bank account number visible or did you darken out the number(s).

As for the affidavits, I had a friend who I have known for over 7 years who agreed to do the one of the affidavits for me. She knew about this for 2 years and it was her who continuously asked me when does she need to complete this. Well I gave her the information she needed to include in the letter now at the last minute she has bailed on me, saying she was having reservations about doing the letter and couldnt do it. When I informed her that the letter was optional she suddenly had a change of heart and said "Oh okay then since its optional I can do it then". I just told her don't worry about it, it was as if as long as she thought I desperately needed the affidavit she had reservations but once I didnt need them her reservations suddenly disappeared. Please tell me am I overreacting by being upset about what she did. I am just very disappointed that she waited to close to the last moment to bail out on me, I mean she could have told me "No" when I asked her on several different occassions if she understand what was needed and whether or not she still wanted to do this she always replied yes. I could have very easily gotten another friend to do it, now most of them that could do it if given enough time can't now but the timing is so short.

Please answer my question about the personal information on the evidence and give your opinion about my situation.

Thanks

Hey

I can relate to you...this happened to me when I was in the AOS process...

my husband asked a friend... they were always saying how good friends they were, just like brothers.... all the bull.....

when I needed the letters, we asked him...He agreed...but a few days later, he phoned us and told us that he had reservations, his wife didn't want him to ...

well, that was the last time we talk to the guy...

hey there.

1st, with reference to the affadavit. I did not addthe financial as my salary is quite a bit above the poverty acale. I am including my past 3 years tax returns just in case. The statement you will want to have a Notary sign it and and stamp it.Most banks have a notary or access to one.

I have found that too much information is not a bad thing. If you look at the example forms on this site, the financial details are not filled out.

I hope that helps, '

good luck

I think including account numbers and such information is a personal choice. I don't mind including it in there, hell they already have my SS#, marriage certificate, passport copies and pretty much my entire life in their hands.

As far as your "friend" helping you out, again it's a personal choice but I would just get her to sign the affidavit and close the door on her. Yeah, it's a selfish thing to do but the affidavit is pretty important for you to get since your future depends on it, but at the same time if she calls herself your friend, she would have done it without making a fuss about it. I have no patience for people like that in my life, but like I said, it's a personal decision.

The affidavits needed in the I751 removing of condition phase (support letters from friends) are completely different then the financial affidavits of support (i134 and I864) needed in the K visa and AOS processes. From reading your post I believe you mix the two up.

Remember you have a 90 days filing window that opens 90 days prior to the expiry of the green card. You don't have to file on day 90 before the greencard expires, you can do it within those 90 days. So even so the day is coming closer you should still have enough time to ask another one of your friends to prepare an affidavit for you, should you want to send one in.

Affidavits are optional. Many cases get approved without them. However they are generally recommended when there is not a wide variety of other strong evidence (like child's birth certificate or various financial ties).

As for the personal information. We didn't black anything out from the evidence we provided. They pretty much know all about us from the AOS anyway, so what more could we reveal? I believe it's a personal decision to blacken some information that you may regard as too personal. I've read that a quite a few people on here have blackened personal info, I don't know if any ot them got RFE'd for it, or are meanwhile approved.

Good luck with your case and speedy processing!
