Hello everyone,

I have just recieved an email that my I-130 has been accepted and transferred to the Nebraska division. My paperwork will be mailed to my US address but I am currently in Turkey with my husband. What is the next step I have to take? Is there anything I can prepare now so that I can mail out/apply for the next step right away when I arrive in the states in 2 weeks? Thanks for all the help!

Ok, so I'm assuming that you've gotten the email that your I-130 has been approved, as part of the IR1/CR1 immigrant visa process. (If you :time:it will help us to help you, since we'll actually know where you're at in the process.)

The next thing that happens is that your approved petition goes to NVC (National Visa Center) - and honestly, it might not even get there before you return to the US.

Check out this thread - there's a new one every month for those who are at the same stage (I think) you're at.

There's lots of great information for what you need to do next. A few things:

- You will have a couple of fees to pay

- You will submit your Affidavit of Support Package

- You will need to fill out DS-261 (which is a super-detailed form - go online now if you can to research it and make sure you have all your husband's information for that form.)

- You will compile and send in your IV (Immigrant Visa) package - again, look at the forum and see what you need to collect to submit.

- Finally, once all that is done, your file will be sent overseas and they will set an interview date for your husband.

Good luck! You're getting closer!

Is your timeline updated?

Hi i believe based on what you wrote that you just mailed in your package and that USCIS has accepted same and have sent you a receipt notice that it was sent to Nebraska service center for processing (NOA1) At this point all you can do is wait. You never said you got an approval. The wait time for Nebraska is around 5 to 7 months for an approval to be issued. Please adjust timeline if you have not gotten an approval.

Edit; I thought you meant NOA1 but I just seen your timeline and it looks like you received NOA2.

I think your time line is incorrect.  If you sent it on May 30, 2017, it is NOT approved. You have several more months until you receive an approval notice.

"Your I-130 was approved in 0 days from your NOA1 date"??!?

Ah, that makes sense now too. OP has 5+ months waiting ahead for NOA2. You can use the receipt number on the NOA1 to check your case status whenever you want.

Correct. It got routed from the lockbox to the service center that is handling the I-130 petitions. All you can do it wait until they issue an approval or request for evidence when needed.

Yes sorry I see the problem I didn'1 get approved yet we just submitted our I-130 and it was sent to the Nebraska Center for processing. So all I do is wait now?

Yes and it's a long wait, but start getting documents, taxes, pay fees, copies of birth certificate, anything needing translation, originals and copies, marriage certificate, passport photos, you will need police report but it expires within 30 days so wait until you get letter requesting it, passport for spouse need to be valid at least 6 months before travel to USA, photos of your relationship, any transactions between you, email, letters, if you sent money from western union or money gram, bank statement with his name, or lease, things that say your a couple will be requested. Good Luck
