When submitting evidence, do I send the transcript I requested from the IRS or the entire (186 page) document from turbo tax? Because I went onto the IRS web page and requested my tax transcript, but the i751 instructions specifically states they want the RETURN. Am I over complicating or misunderstanding this?

I'm at the ROC stage as well and going to submit Tax Transcripts.

As i understand at this point they are looking at your filing status, address... I doubt they need the whole thing. And usually Tax Transcripts are more preferable - they are proving you have really filed your taxes.

Good luck with our next step!! :)

Okay, I requested transcripts online from the IRS and they said 10 days. Hopefully this covers both state and federal taxes?

Typically 7-10 days. If you need them sooner, 1) try setting up an online IRS account, if successful, you can access transcripts right away. I said "if successful" because lots of people (including me) had difficulties validating owned phone number and couldn't finalize setting up the account, they sent a pin code a month later and then I was able to finish signing up. 2) visit local irs office, they can print those for you right away, 3) call local irs office, they could fax those too if you have access to a fax machine. You could make appointments with local offices instead of going there and waiting in line.

I am ready to send my package, at least. Between waiting for affidavit of support and letters from banks, I have lost a lot of time (my date expires on July 20).  But I do not have Tax transcripts from IRS, just the usual papers from the tax preparer, now I am scared if I wait for them, I could be sending my package too late :(

Here is the link.

The regular mail will take 7-10 days, but you can get your Transcripts immediately, online - just will have to provide a little more info than if you would get them in mail..

You should be fine :)

Good luck :

But if it's impossible for some reason, to get your Transcripts online,  you can order them in the mail anyway, and meanwhile -  send your package with what you have from your Tax Preparer.

And if USCIS is not satisfied , they just will ask you for Transcripts. But at least you won't be late with sending the package and you will already have your Transcripts.

Ahhh... Thanks again, Ksenia. I will try online, then if nothing happens, I will do that :)

Yes, it is possible to do it online especially if you went with someone like Turbotax or HR Block. You can then download them online and send them in, that's what I did.

To get 1040's - yes, no problem, TurboTax, HR Block or any other Tax Services you used to get your taxes done... But I thought you can get your Tax Transcripts only through IRS website... No?..

I sent in that paperwork and I did not have a problem at all.
