She's not here yet, but, we're planning on going to either Niagara Falls or Disney World.

Good choices CM, I posted disney world in another thread and got hammered by people giving their opinions that it isn't "romantic". Ever notice how some people posts their opinions like they are facts?

Did you/anyone see the (travel channel?) special on DW? (It's got a whole adult-oriented night life - was pretty interesting, I never knew that.. I'd list it as a definite spot... I think anywhere (OK, maybe not anywhere...) a couple is can be romantic..

True that! But I guess most people associate a honeymoon-type romantic spot with lovely picturesque scenery, serene environments, no crowds and relaxing activities.

Outside of that, a couple can be romantic even at the local reastaurant or the now-dying breed of drive-in theaters

We've had our "honeymoon" - before the wedding. My fiance's interview was in Rio de Janeiro on a Tuesday, so we met a few days before and stayed a few days after to go to the medical exam, be interviewed, pick up the visa. Maybe most importantly - to be together (after 8 months apart) in Rio de Janeiro

Rio is a BEAUTIFUL city and very romantic and we had an AMAZING time. Now we can't afford a honeymoon, so we lived up the 9 days we had in Rio last month....knowing we wouldn't be able to later on.

Here is a picture of a trip we took - to go snorkeling - in the state of Rio. Check out that water!!! And the fish.

Disney is fine if that is what you and your fiance like. I live 4 miles from there, and never was much of a fan, but most people are - so enjoy!

At first we didn't want to go on a honeymoon (our "real" honeymoon consisted of 2 nights in a hotel), but then my husband's best friend decided to get married on Kauai, in November.

He asked my husband to perform the ceremony- so there. We HAVE to go. :)

Since we're going anyway, we decided to add a couple of days and make it something like a honeymoon, we'll be on Kauai for 5 nights and on Oahu's north shore for another 4.

short history:

2001 - met in Germany

April 2003 - fell in love

Aug 2004 - go to the US for internship

Feb 2005 - both return to Germany

Aug 2006 - getting married

DCF timeline:

09/01/2006 - filed the petition in Frankfurt

09/06/2006 - medical in Frankfurt

09/26/2006 - faxed checklist

10/05/2006 - received interview invite

11/01/2006 - INTERVIEW in Frankfurt - approved!

11/04/2006 - VISA IN HAND!!

12/21/2006 - POE San Francisco and ON TO SEA!

Nice! We had our honeymoon in Kerala, India (See my album on VJ for some pics).

But after so many months of separation, it might actually warrant a "second" honeymoon... if I can find a way to fund it, lol!
