@Mohd Al Said and even if we decided to go , do you think they will just let us in and tell us why they kept us waiting all that time ?

i don't think , let's be realistic , that can't happen

There seems to be a consistent pattern here, with almost anyone from the Middle East. They're intentionally delaying a lot of people and performing extreme and rigorous background checks, in order to make it even more difficult to enter the US.

Have you read the news? They're fighting among themselves to tighten legal immigration even more.

It's not enough that the U.S was already (and always) most difficult country to immigrate to.

I've been on AP for 8+ months on a K1 visa - this is the absolute definition of ridiculousness.

It's not necessarily bad news for us.

1. The bill has been voted for/formed fully yet.

2. They have to deal with a lot of opposition and legal hoops first.

3. We're under the family-based visa category anyway, and my best guess that it'd be on a first-come first-serve basis/priority.

Generally, we're in the OK, in shaa Allah.

may be they will delay us more on purpose , just like when he did the executive orders , yeah egypt was not included in the ban but i'm sure it had a role in the delay

That was my theory too. But from the beginning they've clearly declared which countries are on the ban list, so this could be a wrong theory.

The major delay truly comes from the internal administrative chaos created after trump taking office. It created a huge backlog, even for some people within the U.S trying to get a green card.

Go figure.
