Bring Dried Shrimp to the USA

Are we allowed to bring dried shrimp back to the state?

I've brought all types of dried fish back from VN including shrimp. It just needs to be in a shrink wrapped packaging.

I brought buffalo jerky from sapa, I declared it and they took it and tossed it in a yellow bin at SFO and sent me on my way

I brought back 1 kilo dried shrimp on February 23rd.  Customs looked at bag and let me through.  I claimed it on customs form.  I know customs site says definitely NO pork

My wife brought dried fish, dried squid, pepper corn, chili pepper powder/flakes, coffee. and few other things.  We made sure it is vacuum sealed and tape it secure.  We didn't bother to declared it and went through customs with no problems.

Dehydrated seafood and beef are good to go right now, but not sure why you want to since there are dried shrimp from Louisiana and Texas that are way better than the one from Vietnam and will be more sanitary.
