From what I read in the recent few months, you'd better file online. It saves lots of time and case moves very fast.

speaking from experience.

When did you apply for N-400? In the past half year? I read the thread from the last few months, the IOE fillers move much faster than regular paper filers.

I know many IOE filers who applied for N-400 in the last year had a bad experience. But now with the system fixed, IOE is better.

Checking this thread to get some comparisons from filers over the last few months...I e-filed my application a couple of weeks ago, for me it has been moving well thus far.  I know everyone's mileage may vary however.

Some people love the idea of filing online, some people don't.  Before deciding to file online as opposed to paper, I read a lot of threads surrounding it here and on other forums to get a well-rounded view of the good, the bad, and the (past) ugly of it all.  Anyone contemplating e-filing should do the same to find out whether online or the paper application is better for them, I think.

It's a bit late now, they've already filed via paper.

At this point I don't think one way is better than another.  There are too many variables and points in the process where delays and holdups can happen further down the line.  If you efile or paper file, you can still get held up at biometrics, or in line for months because your field office is backlogged up the wazoo.

Got a letter today from my field office saying that "my request for an expedited application was received and my application is pending interview scheduling". Is that not the same as now where I am in line for an interview ? No mention of granted or declined .

I think it's the same thing. Your interview will come soon.

Think it is too. Meaning for Chicago it's still October /November before I get an interview . So it's basically a decline .

I'm interpreting that as them saying "we got your request, we understand the circumstances and we're going to do what we can"
