thanks, do you think I should just request an info pass or service request first. I live very far away from the USCIS office but I feel like infopass is more effective.

I would definitely recommend infopass. Try to get some specific information what's status if your case in uscis computer system. Also ask to speak with immigration officer that's in possession of your file. I don't know if they will let you speak with him but maybe

We had the interview on 04/18 in USCIS Field Office in Dallas, Texas, and waited 4 weeks to get my case status approved online on 05/18, as our IO told us to wait for the decision in the mail from 4 - 6 weeks.

We only made the Infopass appointment on 05/16 (the 4th week) just to remind our IO (the L1 officer emailed her about our concern) and then 2 days later, our case was updated from "Interview is scheduled".

So depend on the IO mentioned how long the decision in the mail, you should make Infopass closer to the earliest day he/she told you; for me it's 4 weeks later from our interview date, 04/18.

Joining the party. Today we had our AOS interview from K1 visa at the San Jose office. Interview was 15-20 minutes total and went well. No decision, case is being held for review. Wasn't aware that so many people are not given a decision on the spot.

I had my interview at the San Jose office too on September 26 the 2016. It went really well and it was with a newer interviewer. He basically approved us by word but said since he was new, he hadn't been cleared to stamp and approve on the spot, his supervisor has to make sure he got all the required documents etc. He did say he will definitely recommend me for the approval and if he missed anything, they will mail us a request. It's January 4th and I haven't received anything yet. My case status still says your interview has been scheduled. I know I can only inquire after 120 days, that's in 22 days from now. It's so frustrating. I wonder what the hold up is.

I had my second AOS interview on May 1, 2018

It was easy follow up interview, we weren't separated. Just basic question like how we meet, what were we studying at that time and where are we working right now.

Approved the next day after interview.

I think 30 days after your interview. My lawyer told me that.
