Unconfirmed reports (unofficial): The arrested man is supposedly wanted in Russia since earlier this year, not a  confirmed sympathizer of ISIS, but Al Nusra and a member of Hizb ut Tahrir.

A second 25 y.o. man was arrested last night according to unconfirmed police sources.

 

A bag of explosives was also supposedly found in the truck.

A civilian cell phone video showing three people being taken into custody just now was released in media. They were stopped a little while ago driving in a car in central Stockholm, in a car with some sort of connection to the Truck driver from yesterday. Police crushed the window and wrestled the people in the car to the ground. Police are not commenting on the event.

The Police in Sweden did an amazing job today... they have practiced how to respond for a long time,  knowing that it is likely a matter of time. No one has thought otherwise. A training was held as late as last week... 

There is no way of knowing when or where these things will ever happen... I pray that the person making those comments will never experience anything similar.

The people of Sweden is uniting in the face of this. Ppl are helping the person on the street not being able to get home, giving free food to ppl stuck downtown etc... I would think ppl in this country would know the feeling of your home being attacked, and that the last thing needed at that time is for someone with an agenda to only hear their own voice to trample all over the memory of the people who died and their families.

..We do not have "tolerance" for terror. We do however, as a nation, not believe the solution is to refuse help to ppl in dire need! It's very easy to sit in the safety of your own home,  without bombs falling outside your window, without your sister being raped and your father executed, to to sit and talk and have opinions. 

Just looking at how Trump has acted surrounding the gas attack,  shows exactly how easy it is to sit and have an "opinion" about what to do... 

This is something very different from what needs to be done. 

I'm just so tired of the hatred in online forums from scared little people with big mouths. I realize this comment might get deleted - if so, be it...

 

That was a horrible crime, and the world stands besides the Swedish people in this moment of mourning and grieving.

 

Sweden and its people are admired the world over, because of the type of reaction you describe. In the face of adversity, people unite and gather in solidarity, seeing at the core what really matters, instead of concentrating on the small bickering we see in other countries. I share your feeling about the hatred bred from ignorance that we see in this forum.

 

Union, solidarity, and humanity prevail over any and all ills.

The guy driving had been denied residency in January and was to be deported but had gone underground and was hiding - another man has now also been officially charged with crimes of terror. Their identities have circulated on the forums since shortly after the man was arrested and turned out to be correct. The Uzbek was a father of of 4.

 

A heartbreaking story from yesterday ---- a mom started searching online for her 11 year old daughter, giving descriptions of what she was wearing and asking ppl if she had been seen hiding anywhere. At the same time pictures of a mutilated body in pieces circulated some other forums and the connection was made from the mom's description... The horrible picture made it back to the family somehow before the girl had been identified.´I can't imagine what would be going through their minds... :( I have no words... 

 

There is about to be a memorial concert in a bit - thousands of ppl have gathered at Sergels torg...

I don't know what to think about all these connections back to Russia with what's happening around Europe, US and the middle east right now...
