Hello, I want you to know that I did search for information but can't really seem to find anything within the last 3-4 years. I suspect things may have changed. We are getting ready for the interview in Peru. We have received an Email with instructions on what we need to do but I have a few questions. I found a post that is pretty informative but it is from 2013. The link is here.

Pachacuti states you will pay the processing fee AT the embassy before the interview? Is this still the case? The instructions we received seems to be a bit different. It says something about a deposit slip that she will need to bring to ScotiaBank for cancellation?

How many times will she need to travel to Lima? She lives in southern Peru and will need to fly back and forth etc. Will only 2 trips be required? One for medical exam? And one for the interview?

Has anyone attended the interview Solo? I'm reading mixed things about the petitioner is recommended, highly recommended, and not a big deal. I'm going to try to make it for sure, but I'd love to hear your input.

Any other general advice given would be greatly appreciated!!!! ;)

Thanks everyone so much!! I'm not sure what I would do without this website. It's great that people want to help each other out with things like this.

My fiancee interview will probably be in May. Are you going to go with your fiance?

I am very curious to hear about both of your experiences for more recent Lima info. Our interview probably (well, hopefully!) will not be later in the summer and I would really like to be there if possible.

Please help..Does anybody know if the US Embassy in Lima accepts co sponsors for the K1/K2 visas? My fiance doesnt meet the requirements and my sister who is american and lives in the US has agreed to be our co sponsor.

Will she be an aditional sponsor or you only need one ?

Thank you very much

Carmen

Hey Carmen, I'm not 100% sure. But, I don't think the embassy location matters as far as Co-Sponsors on the affidavit of support and income requirements. I think they would accept your sister as a co sponsor. Please don't take my word for it. I highly recommend you make a new forum topic asking the same thing as this one is kind of a different subject. I know someone on this website will know for sure. good luck!

To clarify, yes, the embassy location does matter in terms of co-sponsors. Some embassies do not accept co-sponsors. Carmen, check the embassy reviews, the answer to your question is probably there http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Peru

**Post moved from K1 to Regional Forum. Questions are embassy specific.

Do you guys had to pay MRV fee to make appointment online interview in Peru?

Yes, we actually just did that. It is the step directly before scheduling your interview date online. The fee is $265 and we paid it online with a card. There is an option to pay with cash and that is 907.00 PEN. I assume if you choose the cash option then you will need to bring the cash to your interview.

For those of you that like to prepare and know ahead of time what you will see, I will attach the instructions for the person who resides in Peru. You will receive this after your NOA2, after the NVC processes and sends your case to the Lima embassy.  I think they call it "Packet 3, or 4" Not sure why.

This was emailed to me, the petitioner, after I sent them an Email. It is intended for my fiancee in Peru. I forwarded it to her. It is espanol but can be easily translated with google translate. Enjoy.
