Hi everybody...we had our interview yesterday....and we passed! Or we got it! Or whatever you say! haha...

It was really easy. She basically went over the info that was in our application...asking Efrain and then myself to give our names, birthdates, telephone numbers. Then she told us that he was approved. It wasn't until after that that she asked about how we met or to see any proof. It was almost an afterthought.

Anyway, also got the stamp! It's good for one month. because she said that the gc would arrive within that time... We couln't be happier!

Let me know if anyone needs more specifics or more info...

;)

Congrats! That's wonderful news.

One question, did she stamp your passport automatically, or did you specifically ask that she stamp your passport?

Thanks!

We could see the stamp sitting on her desk, so I was prepared to ask if she didn't offer it up....but I didn't have to, she just did it.

That's great! I wished all field offices did this. Some won't stamp your passport, even if you ask nicely. :(

I posed my experience with the interview on the 12th. You just need to go back a page or so to find it. I think it got buried in the EAD party. Anyone heard from Maggie? Her interview was the same day and place as mine!

I was busy moving, and reminiscing about the whole experience. We were asked how we met (see my profile for details..it's not your everyday method)...when Omar answered he was nervous and unsure about his english so he kept looking at me. I know it was to verify he was using the right english but of course the interviewer (who was very nice by the way) suspected otherwise and separated us. :crying: We got asked ALL of the questions (see the AOS interview questions located on the forum) and I do mean ALL.:blush: We matched 100 % (duh) and were eventually approved, save for the FBI check to complete. (I asked her what more there is to check...she said the DOS does not share info so they do their own...nice waste of our tax dollars  ). We laughed on the way home, asking each other, did she ask you___? What did you say...yeah me too... one humorous thing that happened...she asked (I thought) who takes pain pills in your home? I thought, wow that's an odd question, how did she know about that?? So I said, I take pain pills for my back. She looked at me very odd, and then laughed..." I asked who pays the bills!!" We both got a laugh from that. Anyways, approved is good, even if it took 2 hours to get there!

Congrats to all the new aproovees!

Concerning my RFE, I called Peace Bridge and emailed Montreal. Both said they didn't have the missing forms. I then called my congerssman's office to follow up on the email. It was his local office, so they didn't get the email from DC yet. Anyway, they're going to send me a release form and they'll see what the problem is. The case worker said it's a very slow and over burdened system and things get lost all the time. It was a relief to see something is getting done.

Went to get my SSN today because I have my EAD in hand. Apparently I'm not in "the system" ("SAVE" I presume) so they need to file a manual verification with USCIS. Told it can take up to 4 weeks and if I have heard nothing in 5 weeks to come back in.

Geesh...

Right I am getting ready to go to the Infopass in Los Angeles, Luckily I can get there within an hour!

Still no sign of my EAD, I am beyond frustrated now and really hope they can get it sorted for me today by ordering an Interim one or speeding up my one. Haven't even had a touch since my Bio on 15th May! $180 for this crappy service...geesh

Anyway fingers crossed I get someone nice and everyone well done on your approvals, hopefully I'm not to far behind!!!
