Hi... just confused here...which one is best to do?

Getting an SSN number first or ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS ?

FYI: Just married from K1 visa

Have you looked at the ssn and aos forums and guides?

youd know that it's best to get the ssn asap and before marriage since a lot of people have trouble trying to apply for ssn after marriage.

Unless you will be working after you get your EAD, I advise you to wait until your AOS is approved. Getting an SSN now will get you a restricted SSC. Meaning it has "not valid for work unless with DHS authorization. That means every time you apply for a job you have to bring your green card and prove you are eligible. On the other hand, getting an SSN after approval of AOS will result in unrestricted SSC. You still have to show your green card for employment however when you apply for Naturalization you won't have to renew your SSC unless you change your name.

You should get the SSN and u can use it to work when you receive the EAD. You may have to goto SSN office and show your EAD to remove the clause not valid for work unless with DHS authorization, but that doesn't stop you working.

Having a SSN is useful in so mny other situations than just applying for a job. The restriction can just be removed when she gets her green card, but atleast she'll have the number.

The restriction can only be removed with the green card.

The EAD is the work authorization that is needed in combination with the restricted SSC.
