Hi

I've just received my NOA1 and wanted to know what I can do whilst I wait as I'd like to speed up the process as much as I can do most of it is done when I get to NOA2.

Please can you give me any useful hints or tips that you may have ?!

Things i can do whilst I wait? Or what you did?/ would have done differently ?

thanks

Priyanka :)

There isn't a great deal to do at this point other than wait for your NOA2 to arrive.

The beneficiary should start to look to make sure his/her vaccinations are up to date and the USC could start to get financial documents together for the I-134, but they want to be as up to date as possible, which is why it's preferable to do the forms post-NOA2 so they will be in the ball park of the interview.

It pretty much is a waiting game; time will go quick and then once the NOA2 arrives, things really speed up :)

It certainly doesn't do any harm to absorb as much information as possible. Take a look at the checklist for your embassy and see what your Packet 3 will ask you to provide: https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/

the more of this you can prepare or know how to prepare in advance, the quicker you can get it to the Embassy and schedule an interview when they receive your file.

You can get medical quotes from a doctor, make sure you have access to your vaccination records, start looking through the I-134 form to see what you'll both need, check you've got certified copies of your birth certificate, etc. Police certificates often have validity periods of 12 months so you could always start the process of getting that, too. I've done all of these things while I wait for my NOA-2, so we're prepared and ready to go as soon as the embassy receives our file.

You cannot speed any process but you can be prepared for the next steps ahead of time. As stated, start gathering all evidence you need for the interview, ensure vaccinations are up to date and keep checking in on VJ to make sure you have everything in hand. Good luck.

I will not look back on this journey with fond memories, but I will look back knowing that every step was worth it, whatever the outcome.
