Hi! I haven't received anything yet, but I've been getting emails. These both came in within two hours of each other. The first says

Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

The second says:

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

Now does that mean I have NOA2s for BOTH of these? Whaat? I don't get it.

#1 What does this mean?

#2 What do I do now (which docs etc)?

#3 How much time left before US entry approximately???

Should I be celebrating?

Congrats!! That's about 40 days from NOA1 :)

Now, I think you just wait till the paperwork gets to India. Start working on Packet 3.

You should be celebrating like it's 1999 :)

1) You have been approved. You can choose the K-3 which is quicker, or stay with CR-1. The CR-1 will require you to wait a little longer.

2) You wait for Packet 3, and the Approval Notice. Prepare your I-134 Form, and gather police certificates.

3) Depends how quickly the Embassy can schedule an interviewl

You may not need to wait for the embassy to send you packet 3: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=59531

You do have to wait for the embassy to get your approved petition though.

Well the CR-1 is longer than the K3. So - the choice is quite simple.

Loneliness isn't an option. :-)

#1 What does this mean? Means your approved and the NVC will get the CR for further processing.

#2 What do I do now (which docs etc)? K3 will be forward to the embassy and the CR1 will go to NVC and they will start sending you the proper forms.

#3 How much time left before US entry approximately??? k3 is faster but if you do not want to worry about AOS then you can wait out the CR1.

** Please note that the embassy/consulate can cancel the K3 and issue the CR1 if they both arrive at the same time. This happened in my case the K3 got to Islamabad one week later the CR1 arrived and they cancelled the K3 without giving us any options.

Congratulations on your approvals.

Should I be celebrating?

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

You guys have been great. Thanks for all your support. This whole process is easier with visajourney.com.

Okay so we've been approved! Our package will be sent to Chennai in India within a few days, God-willing. I'm going forward with the K-3. But I'm really confused.

  • Chennai will receive the package and then send out Packet 3? Is this right? What is packet 4??
  • On this page (http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...amp;cty=Chennai), the contents of Packet 4 are listed but nothing on Packet 3. Where can I get the contents and form for packet 3, as everyone is suggesting to start before Chennai actually sends it out?
  • Do I send my wife my I-134 or I-864?

Thanks again people. You guys are great.
