I see you down there typing Gary...did she call?????

ETA: oops you beat me! Well good news she is there. We all at VJ can collectively take a breath now. You should have told her to just to borrow someone's mobile phone and call! If those people in the airport knew the story!

How many hours since she left home? She must be so tired! I doubt she or Robin got much sleep on the plane! Did she get the boarding passes for all the flights before she boarded the first plane? She could just be standing in a line- security checks to the next gate etc.

I'm not sure I would even be listening for a page for me!

Nothing like a last minute heart attack!!!!! Ok, I called North West. I begged the man on the phone to give me some information. After a long wait he told me that the flight has been delayed 2 1/2 hours!!!! He said that she did check in at the gate so she is there. I don't know why she hasn't called but at least I know that she made it through immigrations. THIS IS KILLING ME!!!!!!! It's like our whole journey for the last three years has been, one roadblock after another! Oh well, we made it this far and we will make this last hill. If nothing else I will get in my car and drive to Minneapolis to get her!!!!!!!!!

Ok she was delayed.

And now she is shopping.

It will all be just fiiiiine, Gary. I know you're all excited and things just aren't happening fast enough haha but they will happen, bro!

I can wait the extra 3 hours. That isn't the problem. The fact she didn't call is what is making me crazy. I know Luz, if she could have called she would have. The only thing I can think of is she couldn't figure out the phone card even though I showed her how to use it while I was there.

She probably hit option 2 for Spanish and then couldn't understand the directions... :)

YMMV

Yes, try not to worry....tho I know that's stupid of me to say to you right now. There's surely a good reason why she hasn't yet called, Gary. She will. And then you'll be holding her your arms and forget alllllll about the delay and all the worrying you're doing at the moment.

I tried once to call my fiance from O'hare airport just not to have roaming charges on my cell phone, and could never make the phone callto save my life. I did put the coins, I tried with Area number, without, with a 1, without the 1, with more coins. I never got it. And im used to use public phones in Canada and never got that issue. If those phones are the same I tried to use.... :help:

Well at least you know she checked in at the gate!!!!! Keep us updated!!!

Gary,

You don't know me - I tend to be more of a lurker than a replier (I've been here since 2004..) but I have followed your story and seen your website. I just want to stop by and tell you that I'm so happy for you. You seem so dedicated to your Luz and my heart is leaping for you. I saw the delay with the flight and I know your heart sinks just a little ;) but 3 hours is nothing compared to having her forever in your arms. You are going to look back on this day as one of the greatest moments of your new life together. Treasure it and remember the excitement and anticipation when things tend to get "normal". I know they're so excited to see you and I'm sure the fact she hasn't called is just trying to figure how things work out. I came from Australia to the US and I couldn't figure out how to make a phone call with all the area codes and such.. I'm sure it's nothing to get concerned about. She is going to love the flowers and I think you are going to be a fantastic step-dad to Robin. You treat them both so wonderfully. My heart is filled with joy for you and I want you to know that I am so excited for you.

Take care,

Monarch.
