Hi,

My Fiancee has been approved for her k1 visa but we just realized her Mexican passport will expire soon.  She will enter the US in April and her Visa expires in November.  Our concern is that if she renews her passport prior to entering the US, Will it void her Visa?

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

when she applies for a new passport, she needs to make absolutely sure that they 1) give her her old passport back 2) that they don't invalidate her visa.

I traveled a number of times on an unexpired student visa that was in my expired passport. They punched holes through my passport card but were careful not to punch them through the visa. At POE, I presented both the new passport and the old one with the visa, and it was never a problem.
