Interview Experience

We went to our interview and the Interviewer was really nice. He asked us how we met, then, he said, do you have any updated documents, I gave him the joint income tax that we filed for 2016. Then he asked my wife a series of questions from the initial form we submitted. Like "if you're a terrorist or held a gun or bringing goods for sale" and so on, just answerable by yes or no. Then he did something on the computer and told us that, I don't see any problem here, and I'll approve your application pending the background check. Background check is for 24 hours, so he said, he can approve our application tomorrow and we should be getting my wife's green card within 2 weeks.

Finally we can stop stressing lol.

Good luck everyone!

Great! Congratulations!

Hi everyone. So I was just trying to check processing times at USCIS. On the their website, I selected National Benefits Center because our case starts with MSC. But I-485s are not even listed on this page. So where am I supposed to look? Nothing has moved with our case since February 27th. I have no idea where our case is or even if someone has it. Is there any way to inquire about this? I know we can submit an e-request, but I'd rather talk to someone over the phone. He has is EAD and got that really quickly, but NOTHING whatsoever about the green card. I know we're all really frustrated. Any advice?

Hello everyone! I have a question.. So March 8, our case status updated to "New Card is being produced" then  on May 11th, its again updated to "New Card was mailed to me".

Yesterday, March 13, I received the approval lettet on the mail but I didn't receive the card yet. is that normal? 😁 I was expecting approval letter with the cars.

It's time to put your frustration to the side because you may not hear anything for another 3-6 months roughly.

You actually can't submit an e-request either. The soonest you can inquire about the I-485 is 6 months after the date USCIS received the paperwork, and even then you'll most likely just get the standard answer of "your case is still within normal processing times" or "we're experiencing some delays and expect an answer within 6 months". All you can do is wait and hope for the best.

Expect the card to come sometime early this week. Mine took exactly 2 business days after the card was mailed but there wasn't a weekend in between.

Did they send the card through priority mail with a tracking number or first class mail ?

Priority mail with tracking, but you don't actually get the tracking number. Maybe if you call they'll give it to you but I thought that's a bit silly to do.

Still waiting for my EAD too but we're within regular processing times so I am not worried. Our package was received on Feb 21.
