Hi my sister is a dentist in Pakistan and she is planning on taking her National boards exam in USA around May. She has done all the requirements for the examination and is planning on applying for visa in a couple of days, I her sister is residing in United States i came to America in 2014 under K1 visa and currently I am on a conditional permanent residency. I want to know what shall be the problems if she will get her visa or i will be a problem for her. She will be traveling with my parents they already have a B1/B2 visa that they received in order to attend my wedding in 2015. Please any help would be appreciated. Thank you :)

She applies, she gets a visa or she does not. If she does not then she needs to do her exams in Pakistan.

that exam cannot be taken in Pakistan its only in USA.

She needs to apply, but she needs to show her own strong ties to returning home.

 

I assume she will tell them honestly that she is coming to do this exam on her application.

 

She has to be honest and show her strong ties. Either she gets approved or not.

Search the VJ boards on this topic. I remember reading about this very topic a few weeks ago. Someone was coming from Pakistan to take the exam and was denied. The National board exam is for practicing in USA. Ask yourself, why would you return home if you had US credentials for dentistry?

Its true but a lot of medical graduates come here to take exams and practice. I myself is a medical graduate and currently studying for my board exams. Dentists need to take boards and go to school here for 2 years so, their situation is different they can't start working immediately after taking this exam anyway thanks for the help everyone. We will see how it goes for her :)

she doesn't need to go with parents they are coming to see me so she decided to take her exam during the same time when they are here.
