Just popping in to say hi. CONGRATS to the recent visa approvals. Seeing your posts made me a little teary eyed...so happy for you all! My hubby's interview is on Thursday...anxious is not even the word! I can't wait for it to be over. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we will spend Christmas together.

Speaking of which, someone mentioned having already bought their tickets before the interview. We considered it, but thought it was too risky. We are hoping that they will be considerate of the holidays and not take the textbook ten days to return his passport, so he can leave Lagos on 12/20...decisions, decisions! I would hate to have to cancel and rebook the flight. Thoughts?

Hi there,

Best of luck for the interview!

We bought our airline tickets (my husband will be here for xmas/New Years and we will fly together to the US) when the date of the interview was announced. It didn't seem too risky as we will be flying 30 days after the interview, that took place last Tuesday on DEC 5th.

As I'm typing this, I haven't received the Visa enveloppe and my passport back yet, and it has been 6 days.

I'd say that booking a flight 8 days after the interview seems a bit tight perhaps?

It went really well, fast and easy! A lot less stressful that I had anticipated, everyone was super nice.

I had prepared an extensive portfolio with all the bona fide material but I didn't even need to show anything (other than the originals of the civil documents).

Today I checked the CEAC website and it said "ready" (for the interview) in the morning. I just checked again and it said "Administrative Processing", my HEART DROPPED! But then after reading the information, it says that if the visa had been approved, it would be printed and sent within 2 days. So that just means they are actually working on it, whew !

Don't you worry, it will be a very pleasant experience !

My husband and I got our NOA1 January 5, 2017 from Texas Service Center, but we weren't approved until October 26, 2017 :( It's been 46 days since our NOA2 said they sent our approved petition to the NVC. We've been calling, but they said they still haven't received it and USCIS said they have up to 90 days. This whole process has been insanely long. Happy for everyone that had a speedy process, but I just don't understand how long I we're going to have to wait. I'm from California and my husband is from Spain.

I feel your pain. But it's been this long, might as well sit back with some wine and enjoy the holiday season either way. We still haven't received our NOA2 and our PD is the 25th January - so I've taken to just basically not caring anymore. It's the only way to get through it all.
